Job Description

Delta’s Industrial Automation Business Group is currently looking for an experienced Software Application Engineer, preferably located in Italy to strengthen our Competence Team for Motion Control and Robotics.

His/her main objective will be to extend the Delta motion control solutions platform by continuously developing the software libraries and tools for automation and motion platform. The position requires a very good technical knowledge of industrial automation products, including Servo Motion and Drives, inverters, PLC, remote I/O modules, vision systems and development programming tools.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • To be the operational interface between the motion/automation customers and internal field application engineers and R&D department.

  • To develop application and software libraries for the Delta Motion Control platform for specific markets and industries.

  • To generate documentation and application notes to support the automation/motion user community.

  • To have a consultative role for large key account motion customers.

  • To interact with the Product Management and R&D team to consolidate technical requirements and to define the development of the new features and product capabilities.

  • To provide high-level technical support and to interact with customers concerning complex technical needs.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, preferably in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Min. 5 years experience in the Industrial Automation/Motion sector. Experience in motion-related industries like packaging/woodworking would be consider a plus.

  • Good knowledge of IEC61131-3/PLCOpen standards and related languages.

  • Good knowledge of C/C++/C# languages.

  • Good knowledge of PLC, Servo Drives, fieldbus, networking.

  • Fluent English is mandatory.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and intercultural awareness.

  • Good organization, planning and analytical skills.
