Job Description
- you define and lead the cross‑organisational communications strategy for the internal communications team and hold ultimate responsibility for organisation‑wide programmes and the delivery of strategic communications objectives.
- you translate the Deloitte Netherlands strategy into integrated communication roadmaps and editorial calendars, ensuring coherence and execution across teams, content and channels.
- together with the team, you define and implement the content and channel strategy (intranet, app, e‑mail, digital screens), including governance, UX improvements and dashboards for continuous optimisation.
- you advise and coach senior leaders (including the executive board) and programme sponsors on executive‑level messaging, stakeholder strategy and reputational risks, and are responsible for positioning and alignment with the four business units and NSE/Global.
- you lead change, incident and crisis communications: develop protocols, coordinate rapid response and executive briefings, and ensure clear, timely internal messaging.
- you manage communications budgets, monitor team KPIs and metrics, report to senior stakeholders (including the executive board), and lead and develop a team of up to 8 people: recruitment, performance management and talent development.
Qualifications
You work strategically and analytically, with strong persuasive skills and political sensitivity, remaining results‑oriented and calm under pressure. You develop colleagues within the team and take responsibility for their performance and career development. You use data and insights to inform decisions and operate autonomously at senior level in complex environments; additionally, you continuously monitor the broader organisational landscape, strategic priorities and change agenda (both internal and external) to proactively align communications and identify risks in a timely manner. Additionally, for the Internal Communications Manager role you have:
- a completed university degree, preferably an MSc in (corporate) communications or equivalent.
- at least 8 years’ work experience in corporate communications or change communications.
- extensive experience with strategy, crisis communications and cross‑organisational programmes.
- demonstrable experience with budget management and vendor selection.
- excellent command of English, with outstanding writing skills.
- availability for 32 or 40 hours per week and experience in people management (direct reports).
Additional Information
As Internal Communications Manager in the Executive Office, you lead communications strategies for complex programmes and themes, and together with your team are ultimately responsible for delivering measurable communications objectives. You work closely with the Internal Communications Lead (Senior Manager) and co‑lead the advisory support to the Executive Board and senior leadership to jointly align the communications strategy for Deloitte Netherlands. In doing so, you strengthen employee engagement across the organisation, increase acceptance and actual use of new strategies, developments and tools, and enhance the professional impact and development of the communications team.
