Job Description

About this team:

We are looking for a curious and motivated Analyst to join our Technology Strategy & Transformation team. This role is suited to an early-career professional with approximately 0–2 years of experience who is eager to contribute to meaningful client work while developing their advisory capability.

Our Technology Strategy and Transformation team (TS&T) at Deloitte works closely with business executives and digital/IT leaders to provide trusted technology and transformation advice, helping them optimise their business technology landscape, set their technology strategy, and prepare their organisations for business transformation. We work across multiple industries and sectors to advise organisations on how they use technology for efficiency, effectiveness, and competitive advantage, often operating as an extension of our clients’ leadership teams.

The TS&T team act as strategic advisors to New Zealand businesses to enable them to better leverage technology on their digital transformation journeys. This role is typically advisory-led, combining structured problem solving, stakeholder engagement, and practical recommendations. Some examples of the work we do are:

  • Advising executive and senior leaders to design technology strategies aligned to business outcomes for organisations
  • Designing and implementing operating models for technology, transformation, and digital functions
  • Completing requirements gathering and options analysis activities for new business applications and/or capabilities
  • Technology procurement and commercial management for new or existing business applications and platforms, including market assessments and vendor evaluations
  • Enterprise architecture advisory including system rationalisation and scaling for future growth
  • Designing and getting agreement on transformation programmes including business case development, delivery methodologies and strategies, and approaches to value realisation, often supporting governance and decision-making forums

Qualifications

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

  • 0–2 years of experience in consulting, advisory, professional services, or a relevant industry role involving stakeholder engagement, analysis, and the development of structured recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise information, structure complex issues, and develop practical recommendations
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to build effective relationships, work as part of a team, and adapt to changing client needs and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to a range of audiences and stakeholders
  • A growth mindset, demonstrated through curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes with integrity and accountability
  • A foundational understanding of enterprise technology environments, including enterprise architecture, service management, technology operating models, or cloud computing
  • An understanding of technology delivery and transformation practices, including business analysis, data and insights, user experience, agile delivery, and process improvement, and how they support organisational objectives
  • An interest in AI and emerging technologies, including how they can be leveraged to address business challenges, enhance decision-making, and create value for organisations
  • Experience supporting or facilitating workshops and translating outcomes into actionable recommendations, decisions, or investment priorities
