As Oracle’s only Global Cloud Elite partner in New Zealand, Deloitte is well positioned to deliver complex Oracle Cloud transformation programmes for leading organisations.
Job Description
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join our established and growing Oracle practice and lead the functional delivery of Oracle Cloud HCM transformation programmes for large public and private sector organisations across New Zealand.
You will lead client engagements to design and implement Oracle Cloud HCM solutions that modernise people operations, transform workforce management processes, and enable better decision-making across complex programmes.
We are primarily seeking candidates with strong Oracle Cloud HCM functional leadership experience. We will also consider exceptional HCM professionals from other leading platforms who can demonstrate senior delivery capability and a clear pathway to building Oracle Cloud expertise.
You will work directly with senior client stakeholders, lead functional workstreams, shape solution design, and support the development of junior team members. You will join a collaborative, high-performing team with a strong reputation in the New Zealand Oracle market and access to ongoing professional development.
What you’ll do
- Lead client workshops to understand business requirements and translate them into fit-for-purpose Oracle Cloud HCM solution designs.
- Lead functional design, configuration, testing, cutover, and deployment activities across Oracle Cloud HCM workstreams.
- Build trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders, facilitating workshops and aligning stakeholders around clear decisions.
- Own functional solution quality, delivery planning inputs, risks, dependencies, and outcomes across complex programmes.
- Contribute to business development, proposal responses, client presentations, thought leadership, and Oracle practice growth initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior consultants, sharing functional expertise and delivery discipline.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
- Significant experience as an Oracle Cloud HCM Functional Lead or senior functional consultant, with depth across core HCM and broader workforce management process areas.
- Hands-on experience delivering full lifecycle HCM implementations, from design and configuration through testing, cutover, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end HCM processes, cross-functional dependencies, and integration with adjacent business and technology domains.
- Ability to lead independently, solve complex problems proactively, and deliver effectively within structured programme environments.
- Strong client-facing communication, stakeholder management, relationship-building, and written/verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to coach, support, and uplift junior team members.
- A growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and Oracle Cloud certification.
Additional senior responsibilities
During sales pursuits, you will help shape Oracle Cloud HCM solutions that meet client objectives, including:
- Understanding opportunity scope, solution assumptions, key dependencies, and delivery risks.
- Proposing high-level solution options and business outcomes that align with client objectives.
- Writing high-quality proposal material that responds clearly to tender requirements.
- Contributing to project planning and deployment approaches, ensuring complexity, interdependencies, assumptions, and risks are clearly represented.
- Preparing robust delivery estimates.
- Leading demonstrations and solution discussions during client presentations and orals.
During delivery, you will lead functional solution outcomes, including:
- Leading end-to-end functional solution design across Oracle Cloud HCM modules, including key process flows, integration touchpoints, and data dependencies.
- Providing functional solution and design guidance to implementation teams.
- Leading solution design activities, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to client strategic, workforce, and operational objectives.
- Providing leadership and guidance to project teams, including functional consultants, developers, and offshore delivery teams.
- Reviewing solution outputs and delivery artefacts to ensure quality and alignment with leading practices.
- Providing leadership in project governance forums, including status meetings, design reviews, and delivery planning sessions.
- Influencing effective outcomes with stakeholders at all levels, actively identifying risks and issues and escalating through appropriate channels to support timely delivery.
- Managing stakeholder expectations and supporting business readiness by identifying adoption risks and escalating change-related issues through appropriate channels.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a senior Oracle Cloud HCM professional who is curious, collaborative, commercially aware, and confident leading functional delivery in complex client environments.
- 10+ years’ experience in HCM functional consulting, including significant Oracle Cloud HCM experience and hands-on configuration capability.
- Oracle Cloud HCM implementation experience and relevant Oracle Cloud certifications are highly desirable. Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft or other leading SaaS HCM platforms will also be considered.
- Experience delivering at least five full lifecycle HCM programmes, ideally including greenfield Oracle Cloud implementations.
- Consulting experience in a client-facing environment is a distinct advantage.
- Expert knowledge of leading-practice HCM and workforce management processes, with the ability to identify adoption risks and support effective business change.
- Excellent written and spoken English is required, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders from operational users through to CxO level.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to build, motivate, and develop teams.
