Job Description

The team you’ll join 

As a Consultant in our Artificial Intelligence and Data team you will play an active role in designing and delivering innovative solutions in the area of data, insights and analytics. Our Directors and Partners will support your career and skills development and provide strategic direction to align company goals with personal ones. 

Although the primary focus will be on data analysis, implementing data solutions and insights, you will have exposure to a wide-ranging spectrum of end to end projects in the true sense of the term, expect to have exposure to a variety of tasks and responsibilities including business analysis, analytics development, data platform and cloud data engineering from time to time. The best part is that you’re engaged in a variety of challenging business and technical environments over a range of industries verticals. Leading by example, you will also contribute to the upskilling of team members through a knowledge sharing environment and strive for best outcome for our clients. 

As a consultant within our Artificial Intelligence & Data practice, you will be: 

  • Analysing complex data structures and data related business problems to help deliver high quality and innovative solutions. 
  • Building analytics assets and driving solutions to solve real-world problems 
  • Leading and assisting with facilitating requirements workshops, applying critical thinking and data analysis skills to identify solutions. 
  • Collaborating across various Deloitte teams to assist with delivering project requirements and creating project artefacts. 
  • Advising clients and technology leaders to understand how to gain insights, efficiencies and opportunities through implementing future proof data and analytics solutions. 
  • Maintaining a high level of continuous learning in the latest tools, processes and methodology available in market. 
  • Collaborating with client stakeholders across diverse industries to understand their challenges and enable transformation through AI and Data. 
  • Shaping AI & Data Strategies: Guide organisations in developing and implementing value-driven strategies, operating models, and governance frameworks. 
  • Applying and growing your skills in the area of AI and data such as data analytics, data modelling, data management and advisory. 
  • Creating and maintaining documentation to a high standard, maintain high level of compliance to processes and management practices. 
  • Supporting your Deloitte colleagues and leaders to make an impact that matters to your community and clients. Including contributing toward presales activities by presenting demo’s and proposals 
  • Supporting and participating in the data and technology community across Deloitte and within the South Island wider data community. 

Qualifications

What we are looking for: 

  • A background in professional services, technology vendor or customer facing role as a data analyst or consultant. 
  • Strong data analysis and data interrogation skills and exceptional and demonstratable critical thinking capability, uncovering root causes, offering clear solutions, and driving change. 
  • Experience using common data interrogation language such as Python and/or SQL skills.  
  • Data reporting and presentation skills using common data presentation tools such as Power BI, Qlik or Tableau as well as exceptional Excel skills. 
  • Exceptional documentation skills, process compliance capability and attention to detail. 
  • Great communication and stakeholder engagement skills – presenting complex ideas concisely, considering the audience. 
  • An understanding of and drive to further understand AI and Data Governance, Data Management, and leading industry practices and emerging trends. 
  • Ability to connect business challenges to people, process, data, and technology capabilities. 
  • Passion for continuous learning in AI and Data across both business and technical capability. 
  • Experience of CRM or ERP technology such as SAP, Oracle and Salesforce is an advantage along with data platforms such as AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks or Azure. 
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence an advantage.
