Deloitte’s award-winning Consulting practice spans a wide range of services, positioning us as a market leader globally. Our Human Capital team is looking for a Specialist Lead / Senior Specialist Lead with strong SAP Payroll expertise to join us in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.
In this role, you’ll work across complex payroll-enabled HR transformations, helping clients modernise their payroll landscape using SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
Job Description
The impact you’ll make:
- Using your subject matter expertise in SAP Employee Central Payroll, lead and contribute to blueprint design, configuration of the system and working with development teams to create technical documentation.
- Scoping client needs, conducting workshops to gather AS-IS, TO-BE and gap fit analysis, and lead parts of the business process re-engineering requirements.
- Test solutions and perform fit for purpose analysis on proposed solutions.
- Assist our Application Support team to resolve upcoming and escalated service tickets post go live and enhancements requirements.
- Develop relationships and contribute to sharing ideas, knowledge and development of colleagues and wider community (colleagues, clients and network).
- Leverage your subject matter expertise in SAP HCM Payroll and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) to lead and contribute to solution design, blueprinting and system configuration
- Work closely with technical and development teams to produce high-quality functional and technical documentation
- Lead payroll-focused workshops to capture AS-IS and TO-BE processes, perform fit-gap analysis, and drive business process re-engineering
- Provide expert input into payroll architecture decisions, including integrations with SAP ERP / S/4HANA
- Support and execute payroll testing cycles, including unit testing, integration testing, UAT and parallel payroll runs
- Perform fit-for-purpose assessments on proposed payroll solutions to ensure compliance, scalability and operational efficiency
- Support post go‑live activities including collaboration with the Application Support team to resolve escalations and deliver payroll enhancements
- Build strong client and internal relationships and contribute to knowledge sharing, capability uplift and community development across Deloitte’s SAP Human Capital practice
Qualifications
Your expertise:
- Demonstrated experience implementing SAP HCM Payroll and/or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) across greenfield and brownfield engagements
- Experience working with SAP landscapes including SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA
- Strong Payroll functional knowledge – end-to-end payroll business processes, best practice payroll design and payroll compliance and legal/regulatory requirements (New Zealand payroll experience is highly desirable but not mandatory)
- Business Analysis skills with an eye for detail to complete specifications, documentation, standardisation and operational efficiency at a high level to add tangible value back to our clients.
- Open communication style which encourages change management initiatives, fosters inclusion and gains trust with stakeholders across all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to work in cross functional on and offshore teams to help deliver a single vision focused on client satisfaction.
