Our Strategy, Risk and Transactions team is looking for an experienced Forensic Analyst to join our Auckland  team.

Deloitte Forensic is highly regarded in New Zealand. We assist clients and their lawyers with investigations, litigation, regulatory and remediation matters. We also support clients better manage fraud, corruption and financial crime. The team includes experts in the fields of forensic accounting, investigations, forensic technology, digital forensic, discovery, case and claims management, data analytics and AI.

Job Description

Your typical day will include:

  • Liaising with clients and colleagues to understand the client needs.
  • Solving complex client problems using a variety of Forensic tools including SQL, Tableau, Power BI, ABBYY Vantage, and Relativity and Deloitte’s proprietary Gen AI accelerator NavigAite™.
  • Applying relevant and proven Forensic methodologies to document the analytical approach and work with senior team members to ensure the work is completed at the appropriate level of quality.
  • Proactively communicating with key stakeholders (both internal and external) to build rapport, communicate findings, and ensure expectations are aligned.
  • Support on project management.
  • Support business development initiatives/workstreams to continue to grow and expand our data analytics offerings to make us better placed to serve our clients.
  • Providing technical and non-technical support to more junior team members.

Qualifications

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

  • 2+ years’ experience in data analytics within a professional services environment
  • A relevant university degree – ideally in Business Analytics and/or Finance
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • 2+ years technical experience developing bespoke SQL scripts
  • 2+ years using visualisation tools including Tableau and Power BI
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering quality & timely outputs
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely to key stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Understanding of forensic tools and technologies, their purpose and functionality, and hands on experience in order to analyse, review, investigate and report.
  • Understanding of forensic approaches and methodologies in order to devise and execute solutions
  • Understanding of eDiscovery principles and experience working on eDiscovery projects
  • Experience using OCR tools (e.g. ABBYY Vantage) for document processing and data extraction
  • Experience documenting SOPs and training/upskilling peers
  • Experience providing technical and non-technical support for more junior team members
  • Experience presenting results and translating insights to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with managing Tableau Server admin tasks
  • Knowledge of the AI governance landscape in New Zealand
