Our Auckland based  Audit Team are looking for an Associate Director with Financial Services/ Insurance Industry experience. In this role, your purpose will be that of a senior manager within the business, positively influencing teams and delivering exceptional client service, predominately in the FSI space with the opportunity to assist with related advisory roles.

Your typical day will include: 

  • Managing multiple pieces of work concurrently
  • Regular communication with clients and audit teams, scheduling and executing high quality audit engagements.
  • Ensuring client and internal deadlines are met, without compromising on audit quality.
  • Manage project plans to optimize engagements
  • Formulate reasonable judgements and conclusions to deliver informative and timely outputs
  • Researching accounting technical guidance within relevant framework of GAAP/NZ IFRS/PBES and/or Auditing standards, to assess client accounting positions adopted
  • Act as role model and mentor for junior staff members providing training and development opportunities, and - influencing the team positively.
  • Keeping audit efficiency top of mind.
  • Working to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge related to regulatory/ statutory requirements and compliance.
  • Assist with preparation of business reports and management letters for clients highlighting recommendations related to key issues.

Qualifications

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with: 

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in external audit, working as an Assurance & Advisory Manager.
  • Financial Services and Insurance Industry experience
  • General knowledge of both financial reporting and auditing
  • You will hold a CA qualification
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting standards
  • Like most technically capable people you will have a fine eye for detail and will enjoy the constantly changing landscape of the regulatory environment, auditing and assurance standards, and financial reporting standards.
  • Equally important will be your skills in communicating the crucial aspects of these standards throughout the firm.
  • Learning and the dissemination of knowledge will be a passion as will be the determination to remain on the cutting edge of your profession.

For this permanent position you will be rewarded with a competitive salary from $135,000 to $145,000 p.a. dependent on experience, healthcare insurance subsidy, and mobile phone benefit. Flex-working available in a 37.5 hour work week and a range of other benefits that you would expect from one of the world's leading professional services brands.
