Job Description

If you're looking to build a career in tax, deepen your technical tax knowledge, interact with a variety of top-tier clients ranging from multinational corporations through to private businesses, as well as work in a high performing collaborative environment, the Tax team is for you.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be a part of the tax team working on projects alongside Partners, Managers, and Senior Consultants to achieve tax compliance, consulting, efficiency and understanding for clients.
The tax team is predominantly made up of accountants and lawyers who are experts in their fields and enjoy teaching people how to navigate complex tax legislation and international tax laws.
Tax have a diverse client portfolio from small businesses and high net-worth individuals to large international companies. Tax also works collaboratively on clients with other Deloitte Business Units such as Business Advisory, Financial Advisory Services, and Audit & Assurance.
Your typical day will include:
- Working closely with clients to navigate the complexities of tax
- Interpreting, analysing and researching technical tax issues
- Providing clients with expertise to help them create value and achieve their commercial objectives
- Assisting clients with meeting their tax compliance obligations and deadlines
- -Gaining experience and knowledge in a wide range of areas including Corporate Tax, Private Tax Advisory, International Tax, Tax Policy, Indirect Tax, and Transfer Pricing amongst others.
Qualifications
Enough about us, let's talk about you. You are someone with:
- Currently completing any degree, with a passion for business and a genuine interest in a career in tax. A Commerce or Law degree can be advantageous but is not essential. Eligibility to work towards Chartered Accountancy or CPA is common but not required.
- An analytical mind, detail-oriented, with a passion for problem solving. Attention to detail and being comfortable with numbers.
- A driven and intellectually curious person, who has great interpersonal and communication skills. Emotional intelligence to navigate between clients and competing priorities, and a willingness to work in a team.
- No previous experience is required. Part-time positions or internships in accounting, finance, customer-service, retail and hospitality are beneficial.
