Job Description
Job Summary
The Lead, Nursing Workforce Strategist is responsible for designing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize the nursing workforce and enhance healthcare delivery. This role focuses on aligning staffing levels, skills, and resources with organizational goals and patient care needs. By analyzing workforce trends, forecasting demand, and developing talent management strategies, the Lead ensures a highly skilled, motivated, and sustainable nursing workforce. The position is essential for driving operational excellence, improving patient outcomes, and supporting the long-term success of healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement workforce strategies to optimize nursing staff allocation, retention, and professional development.
- Analyze workforce data, forecast staffing needs, and create actionable plans to address gaps and improve resource utilization.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and HR teams to design recruitment, onboarding, and career progression programs tailored to nursing professionals.
- Lead initiatives to enhance nurse engagement, job satisfaction, and workplace culture, fostering a high-performing and resilient workforce.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workforce efficiency, quality of care, and staff well-being, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in nursing, workforce planning, or healthcare administration, with at least 3 years in a strategic or leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Nursing; a Master’s degree (MSc) in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Professional certification in nursing leadership, workforce planning, or talent management (e.g., NEA-BC, SHRM-SCP) is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare workforce trends, nursing practice standards, and talent management best practices.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive organizational change.
- Must be a resident of Imo State or open to relocation.
