Job Description
Job Summary
The Lead, Nursing Standards & Policy is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of nursing practice across healthcare facilities. This role ensures that nursing policies, protocols, and procedures align with regulatory requirements, best practices, and organizational goals. By leading the development and implementation of evidence-based standards, the Lead fosters a culture of excellence, patient safety, and continuous improvement in nursing care. The position is critical for enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery and supporting the professional growth of nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update nursing policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with best practices.
- Lead the implementation of evidence-based nursing protocols and procedures, promoting consistency and excellence in patient care.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives that enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- Provide guidance and training to nursing staff on policy adherence, clinical standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing practices, using data and feedback to inform policy updates and support continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in nursing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or policy development role, preferably within a healthcare or public sector environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Nursing; a Master’s degree (MSc) in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
- Professional certification in nursing leadership, quality management, or a related specialty.
- Strong knowledge of nursing standards, healthcare regulations, and quality improvement frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to engage and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be a resident of Imo State or open to relocation.
