From climate change and human rights violations to water pollution and diversity and inclusion matters - there are complex and interrelated factors that businesses need to consider before they can reduce their negative impacts – and increase the positive ones.
Together with your Deloitte colleagues, you will help organisations integrate impact into the business strategy and decision-making process and to become a more ethical and responsible business while creating long-term value.
How do you do this?
As an Economic, Environmental and Social Impact Modeling Senior Consultant, you will be supporting our clients in measuring and analyzing the ESG impacts our clients make and where asked to monetize the outcomes into social costs or benefits. Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with senior team members to lead the delivery of projects for clients with a focus on:
- Performing social and environmental extended input-output modelling
- Measuring and monetizing social, economic and environmental impacts in line with industry standards such as the Value Balancing Alliance methodology
- Provide quantitative insights through financial, social, and economic impact modelling using data science, mathematics, and statistical skills;
- Conduct robust modelling (Python) and interpret the results (Tableau, Power BI dashboards);
- Support senior team members with project and team management;
- Contribute to future development of the practice, including preparation of the proposals, thought leadership articles and industry events;
- Participate in discussions with senior team members and developing supporting materials to facilitate through the project phases;
- Contribute to external and internal meetings with professional and structured overviews (e.g. email, PowerPoint decks, Excel factsheets etc.).
Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, or master’s degree or a related business discipline with focus on sustainability.
- 3+ years of direct professional experience from a top-tier consulting firm or corporate role in economic modelling or ESG impact measurement (input-output modelling, impact valuation etc.)
- Strong record of delivering business development and growth in an emerging service line
- Deep understanding of ESG-related standards and frameworks including VBA, Capitals Coalition, GHG Protocol, SASB, GRI, and TCFD.
- Comfort with combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis to solve business problems
- Assurance readiness in ESG or Audit experience in ESG.
Preferred:
- Sound understanding of corporate sustainability risks across various industry sectors
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time and budget
- Experience applying standards, procedures, and processes to implement management system and/or regulatory requirements
- Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to think laterally and adapt previous experience and solutions to new projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team and environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience working independently on multiple assignments or engagements, even in a virtual environment
