Deloitte's Core Business Operations (CBO) portfolio operates at the centre of our client’s IT transformation. By joining our team, you will help C-suite executives and programme leaders transform their organisations through emerging hybrid cloud technologies, IT resilience strategies, and workload migration frameworks.
Deloitte’s Cloud Engineering team consists of technical thought leaders and cloud architects who design hybrid cloud, workload migration, and disaster recovery solutions for enterprises. Our Cloud team is at the heart of technical solutioning and leads the modernisation of enterprise IT infrastructures.
Work you'll do
As a Senior Cloud Solution Architect & Technical Sales Advisor, you will design, implement, and optimise hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless workload integration between on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud platforms. You will work closely with clients, pre-sales teams, and cloud architects to develop comprehensive workload migration and backup strategies.
You will conduct technical assessments, develop migration roadmaps, and implement disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity. Additionally, you will support technical sales efforts, contributing to RFx responses, developing proof of concepts (PoCs), and engaging in client workshops.
Your role will require a strong understanding of hybrid cloud strategies, IT security, compliance standards, and workload performance optimisation. You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients reduce operational costs, enhance resilience, and modernise their IT infrastructure.
Proposals, Business Development & Technical Sales Support:
Assist in proposal development and RFx responses for workload migration, hybrid cloud, and disaster recovery solutions.
Conduct technical assessments, client workshops, and solutioning sessions to align client needs with best practices.
Identify business opportunities, network at industry events, and support client engagement strategies.
Provide technical leadership during steering committee meetings and client strategy discussions.
Develop and present PoCs and technical demonstrations to showcase hybrid cloud resilience, workload migration strategies, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Collaborate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving client needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in cloud solution architecture, workload migration, and IT infrastructure.
- 3–5 years in client-facing and technical sales roles, supporting workload transformation initiatives.
- Professional-level certification in cloud platforms or virtualisation technologies (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, VMware Certified Professional - VCP).
- Proven track record of migrating, modernising, and managing workloads in on-prem and hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup) in hybrid environments.
Technical Requirements:
- Hybrid Cloud Architecture – Expertise in designing and implementing on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud integration strategies.
- Workload Migration & Modernisation – Experience in migrating traditional IT workloads to hybrid cloud platforms, including VMware-based infrastructures.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery – Strong knowledge of enterprise-grade backup solutions, including Commvault, Veeam, and cloud-based recovery strategies.
- Security & Compliance – Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, POPIA, GDPR, and enterprise security best practices.
- Cost Optimisation for IT Workloads – Ability to assess, analyse, and optimise workload placement, licensing, and resource efficiency.
- Technical Sales & Business Development – Experience supporting pre-sales teams, proposal development, and proof of concepts (PoCs).
