Job Description

Job Purpose

To drive and deliver exceptional business performance through the provision of insightful leadership of assigned team in achieving deposits and profitability targets

Responsibilities

Responsible for increasing and sustaining the Bank’s profitability in assigned Business Unit in line with set key performance indicators (KPIs).
 Identify new business opportunities; lead, develop, present and convert sustainable new business opportunities as well as ensuring continued growth from current portfolios to agreed set targets.
 Actively seek new business opportunities and convert into business
wins that supports achievement of month on month deposits and profitability targets.
 Network to develop and leverage relationships to provide new business opportunities.
 Lead, develop and present high-impact and high-quality business proposals – both written and presentations.
 Demonstrate a clear understanding of the market dynamics of your assigned Business Unit.
 In liaison with assigned Group Head, continuously seek ways in which to add value to existing portfolios.
 Provide market intelligence where possible and monitor competitors’ activities to aid in informed business decision making.
 Ensure full understanding of any changes and development in legislation and working practices that may affect the Bank’s operations and/or present new opportunities.
 Develop good relationships with customers to obtain commitment to long-term presence and suitable leverage in order to gain further extension of business, striving to place the Bank as the customer’s preferred financial advisor.
 Provide strong leadership to all staff, ensuring that each staff member in the team contributes optimally to the attainment of the agreed targets.
 Undertake any other duties that may be assigned by the Group Head.
 Any other jobs which may be assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

 Minimum of a good first degree with not less than eight (8) years relevant working experience in areas such as business development, relationship management (with at least 4 years in management position).
 Possession of existing pipeline contacts / business opportunities is an added advantage.
 Business knowledge in the assigned area of operation is an added advantage.
 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is a prerequisite for this role.
 Must have strong relationship management skills
 Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with management and customers at all levels is essential.
 Good analytical skills and experience with data analysis is required
 Good written and verbal communication skills are key to the success of this role
 Team player and able to direct work activities of team members in assigned business locations to achieve results is required
 Computer literacy is an essential requirement for this role.
