Services:

  • Audit of financial statements that have been prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), NGAAP and other valid standards.
  • Review of accounting and internal control systems.
  • Consulting on accounting principles, the chart of accounts and organization of finance and accounting departments.
  • Comprehensive advice on implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards, including interpretation and application of complex standards.
  • Assistance with the establishment of reporting departments.

About the Role: 

Deloitte Nigeria's Actuarial & Quantitative Solutions (A&QS) unit is searching for a talented Associate to join our team. This is your chance to make a real difference by developing creative solutions for our clients in Nigeria's booming market. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate and be knowledgeable about Credit Risk models (e.g., AIRB, IFRS 9, ECL, adjudication/behavioral scoring models, and CCAR models) based on industry best practices. 
  • Carrying out financial analyses including independent derivatives evaluation and processes. 

  • Build and maintain forecasting and stress testing models, customer behavior models, and innovations such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. 

  • Analyzing and advising on various treasury functions, including cash management, liquidity management, risk management, and capital structure. 

  • Review, analyze, and develop Capital Markets and Market Risk models (e.g. Financial Derivatives Pricing, VaR, Counterparty Credit Risk, XVA, FRTB, IBOR Transition, and CCAR models) based on industry best practices. 

  • Developing and reviewing Treasury Asset Liability Management models (e.g. Structural Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Stress Testing, Capital Adequacy, Fund Transfer Pricing, and other various balance sheet aggregation models) based on industry best practices. 

  • Deliver on actuarial engagements, including valuations and pricing 

  • Prophet model development and optimization 

  • Actuarial audits 

  • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and develop effective solutions. 

  • Stay current on the latest actuarial and quantitative methodologies, as well as relevant regulations. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (BSc, HND) in any discipline; with a minimum of a Second Class Upper/Upper Credit.
  • Have a minimum of five credits in WASSCE Ordinary Level/NECO subjects or acceptable equivalent examination, including Mathematics and English Language in one sitting only.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience spent within an actuarial or financial risk team at a major financial institution.
  • Completed or actively pursuing a qualification with an internationally recognized actuarial or quantitative body (e.g., IFOA, SOA, CFA, FRM, CQF, PRM).
  • Solid knowledge of supervisory/regulatory requirements as it pertains to financial risk management.
  • Strong experience in applying actuarial and quantitative modeling techniques to solve real-world business problems. 
  • Ability to program in pertinent languages such as SAS, VBA, R, and Python 
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
