Who you’ll work with:

In the Africa Sustainability Office, we make an impact by inspiring, educating, and supporting the advancement of sustainability at Deloitte. Our contributions lead to helping Deloitte change ourselves and the world to truly make an impact that matters. You will work under the leadership of the Deloitte Africa Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). Additionally, you will collaborate with a large network of internal stakeholders.

Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

Support the implementation of the firms Public Policy (PP) mandate under the leadership of the CSO.

Key Performance Area

Strategic Impact

  • Provides support to the CSO in the development and implementation of the firm's public policy strategy
  • Stakeholder management – supports the CSO to develop and implement a market and stakeholder engagement strategy

Differentiators for this specific role

  • Drafting position papers relating to key areas of public policy focus, including POVs, talking points, and thought leadership as appropriate
  • Co-ordinating communication with PP community across Africa
  • Conduct desktop research sense, shape and support key public policy focus areas
  • Monitoring of external developments in non-market environments across Africa to support PP sensing activities
  • Project management and co-ordination of PP initiatives including co-ordination of PP-led events with internal/external stakeholder teams
  • Assist with regular team reporting for Executive/Board submissions.

Qualifications

  • B Com: Economics/Political Science/Public Policy or similar 

Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Public Policy or similar
  • Experience in professional services environment, or knowledge of South African/African financial economic or political landscape is an advantage.
