About the RA service line  

The RA service line consists of the Internal Controls & Assurance (IC&A), Cyber, Data Analytics (DA), Forensic Crimes & Regulations (FCR) as well as IT and Specialised Assurance (ITSA) service offerings.  The value that Deloitte Risk Advisory Africa creates for organisations is synonymous with operational excellence.

Our Services 

The following is a summary of the services that we offer our clients: 

 

Specialist Audit 

Our primary service offering. We support our Audit and Assurance Offering by performing Cyber and Technology Risk Assessment on their clients. We test the relevant IT elements, General IT Controls, Application Controls and their related infrastructure. 

Technology Risk Advisory 

Specialised Technology & Internal audit support. Project assurance and Reviews including Strategic Technology Risks and Data Migration). We also conduct Cloud Governance as well as IT Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) reviews and assessments. We offer ERP and Technical reviews (i.e., IFRS Application) including Cyber security & Data Protection as well as Emerging Technology Assurance. Moreover, we provide competitions conduct certification in-line with the CPA Act 68 of 2008 & ESG IT Control Reviews  

Third Party Assurance 

We assist organisations develop an effective 3rd party programme to manage any potential risks and obtain assurance and demonstrate transparency over those services/ functions they have outsourced to third party organisations. We also assist IT service organisations provide assurance to their stakeholders regarding regulatory and other requirements through the issuance of Service auditor reports such as Service Organisation Control (SOC) reports (SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3)

We deliver a differentiated experience through providing our client with experienced professionals with deep industry and technical expertise. We also provide our professionals with global mobility opportunities across the Deloitte firm globally.

As a graduate on the ITSA graduate programme, you will be exposed to global best practice in a multi-disciplinary environment. You can expect on-going learning, development, and support as you launch your career. The ITSA team provides the above array of technology assurance solutions to a wide range of clients across various industries, including Energy, Financial Services, Consumer and Telecoms etc.  You will have the opportunity to work directly with engagement teams delivering unique solutions to clients where we expect you to bring your ideas, creativity, and passion for excellence as you make an impact that matters! 

Qualifications

If you are in your final year, or have recently completed the following preferred degrees we would love to hear from you: 

  • B Comm (Information Technology & Sciences, Accounting (Non CA route), Internal Audit) 

  • BSc (Computer Science, Information Systems) 

  • B (Information Sciences, Industrial Engineering & Psychology)  

Candidates with Azure, Google and/or AWS Practitioner Certification and ICASA certification or who have an interest in obtaining such qualification will be successful in this role. 

If you are undertaking (or have recently completed) studies towards postgraduate qualification(s) in any of the above preferred areas, we would also love to hear from you. 

An academic average of 65% is the minimum required.  

Experience 

  • No prior work experience is required. We prefer recent graduates, therefore we will prioritise candidates with less than two years of post-graduation work experience.

Technical Competencies 

Competencies expected of recent graduates

  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills 

  • Competent use of Microsoft 365 and a working knowledge of off the shelf ERP systems 

  • Information technology background supported by related qualification 

  • Design of end-to-end technology solutions.  

  • Indept understanding of cyber security and protocols  

  • Analytical and critical thinker who is able to solve “real world” problems, using technology to build systems that allow for quicker and smarter responses to changes in dynamic and complex environments.

Competencies that will be acquired through the graduate programme inter alia: 

  • Understanding of risk management processes

  •  Uses prescribed tools and methodologies to carry out work assigned, and document work performed.  

  • Fully complies with Audit Quality requirements. 

  • Ability to effectively perform the technical components of risk assessments to provide an accurate view of the client’s current risk state. 

  • Understands and follows Deloitte policies; drives quality in all areas of assigned responsibility. 

Expected to develop an understanding of the following:  

  •  IT Strategy 

  • IT Architecture 

  • Operating Model and Organisational Structures 

  • Gain industry experience (i.e., FSI, Teleco, and Consumer business) 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Governance, Risk and Compliance Domain. 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of GRC Software tools and their benefits. 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). 

  • Develop an understanding of the Deloitte Project assurance methodology. 

  • Ability to collect and assess evidence for project assurance governance testing (i.e., Risk, registers, project charters, project plans 

  • Ability to learn and apply the Deloitte audit methodology. 

  • Ability to execute a business cycle review audit program for testing automated controls, interface controls, IPE & IUC.   

  • Ability to work closely with project managers to prepare action plans, budgets and perform administrative duties such as maintaining project documentation.  

  • Ability to collect and assess evidence for ITGCs, Sampling, carry our audit procedures,  

  • Ability to explain test steps for common ITGCs tested at most clients. Knowledge of "core" operating systems (i.e., Windows AD, Unix/Linux and ability to run and interpret ACTT reports)
