Job Description

 

To assist with managing the Respective Take-On team within sphere of responsibility (Potential Conflicts/Conflict Checks (100%) for Southern Africa in the effective delivery of services to the business.

Summary of Main responsibilities:

  • Assist with managing a team of Senior, Risk and Junior Risk Analysts and ensuring teams output is accurate, complete and completed in a prompt manner through reviews.
  • Ascertaining take-on cases have been researched in detail to ensure the correct conclusion is reached.
  • Compiling statistics and reports, where required
  • Employee Training & Learning etc.

Qualifications

 

Required minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Completed Bachelors degree in Commerce, Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance or similar
  • 4-5 years' experience within the function/area or similar
  • Advance Knowledge of Company Structures
  • Good Knowledge of risk and independence aspects affecting the audit environment (“conflict of interest”/” potential conflicts”).
  • Knowledge of the regulatory bodies (IFAC(IESBA)/SEC/PCAOB etc.) applicable to the audit environment.

Desired qualifications and experience: 

  •  
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to Service Area
  •  
  • At least 2 years at Senior Consultant/Senior Risk Analyst level within the QIRR function
  •  
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the relevant Deloitte Policy Manual 1420 on Independence and DPM 1430 on Potential Conflicts
  •  
  • Display a good level and knowledge of potential conflicts affecting engagements from a professional, legal, business and independence perspective as well as from a personal conflict’s perspective for all business units/service lines and the different requirements for each.
  • Assist with managing a small to medium team of individuals around potential conflicts or similar functions.
  • Hands-on independence/risk management experience and a good understanding of independence/risk management in a professional services environment and the application of risk management methodologies would be an advantage.
  • Some quality management experience in a professional services environment.
  • Good computer literacy, with solid working experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience in the Phoenix (Microsoft Client Relationship Management (CRM) System) would be an advantage.
  • Ability to deal with more complex cases with less assistance from superiors.
