Deloitte Consulting is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Associate Director with a technology transformation focused background to support existing and develop new clients for the KZN practice. The ideal candidate will need to exhibit strong sales and business development experience as well as entrepreneurial traits and an understanding of the shifts and trends in the way company's create value. This person will thrive working in an integrated, inter-disciplinary team made up of skill sets across the broader Deloitte business. Although an industry-agnostic role, exposure to consumer goods, manufacturing, financial services industries will be preferred. This leader will also need the gravitas and track record to be trusted in the market whilst also having the commercial savvy to help grow the client base in the KZN region.

Specialised capabilities:

1. Technology Strategy:

  • Ability to define and drive the client’s desired technology strategy and supporting business processes
  • Leads the design of the client’s IT operating model and strategy and ensures proper alignment between the business strategy and the supporting IT strategy throughout the development
  • Introduces relevant market trends for clients to consider for design enhancements and articulates their potential impact on the IT strategy
  • Integrates IT infrastructure and assets (e.g., data centers, servers/networks) into the strategy and defines how they can provide value to the organization

2. Technology Operating Model Design: 

  • Ability to help our client’s technology leaders rethink, reshape and reimagine their technology operating model into one that best enables business outcomes, shareholder value and core technology capabilities
  • Adopts a holistic view when recommending solutions to address business needs; considers the business need in totality versus focusing on a specific solution
  • Anticipates and articulates broader organizational implications of proposed IT recommendations.  Advocates for the modernization of IT talent management
  • Leads a team to develop robust IT operating models an defines integration points with the broader business
  • Ways of working implementation, incl. process and governance optimization
  •   Operating model organization, talent and workforce design

3. Technology Sourcing and Enablement:  

  • Ability to strategically advise clients and identify opportunities for outsourcing based on business needs
  • Advising clients on disruptive outsourcing trends and how to leverage this to gain competitive advantage, accelerate change in the organisation, gain access to scarce technology skills and capabilities, deliver IT services more effectively or reduce cost.

4. Transformation Delivery:  

  • Ability to clearly define the transformation roadmap and journey for the client
  •  Ability to drive the implementation of the transformation roadmap and the transition to the target state for our clients
  • Provide transformation programme office set up and delivery
  • Provide transformation programme assurance.

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

•            Completed university graduate degree

•            10-15 years of experience in sales and/or corporate strategy

•            Over five years of business development experience and a track record working at senior level is critical, ideally focused on growth strategy solutions-based practice growth.

Preferred:

•            An advanced degree in Business is preferred but not essential

•            Identifies and recruits’ suitable talent for team, balancing correct levels and numbers

•            Maintains succession plan for every senior/critical resource, depending on the profile / need expertise

•            Maintains own development and knowledge in specialised area and business

5.           Budgets / Profitability

•            Manages margins effectively through correct budgeting, pricing and profitability management

•            Monitors that time and expenses to engagements are recorded and submitted weekly

•            Negotiates pricing for engagements to ensure profitability whilst maintaining client interests

•            Manages WIP – billings and cash collections
