Deloitte Consulting is growing, with a focus on developing our already powerful teams.  We are looking for smart, accountable, innovative professionals with deep industry experience and insights to join the world’s #1 Consulting firm.

We are seeking an Associate Director, a s6uitably qualified and experienced Strategy professional with a strong management consulting focused background to support existing clients and develop new clients for the Strategic Advisory practice.

Demonstrated experience advising clients across key strategic competencies including corporate strategy, innovation, digital strategy, business design, operating model and strategic cost transformation is required

The ideal person will exhibit strong entrepreneurial traits, as well as an understanding of the shifts and trends in the way company's create value. This person will thrive working in an integrated, inter-disciplinary environment across the broader Deloitte business, have the gravitas and track record to be trusted in the market whilst also having the relevant commercial savvy to assist with the growth of the Strategic Advisory practice.

Although an industry-agnostic role, exposure across ER&I, consumer goods, manufacturing and financial services industries will be preferred.

Qualifications

 

Required:

•            Completed university graduate degree

•            10-15 years of top-tier management consulting or other professional services experience including demonstrated experience working across corporate strategy, innovation, digital strategy, business design, operating model and strategic cost transformation

•            Minimum 7 years of business development experience and a track record working at senior level is critical, ideally focused on growth strategy solutions-based practice growth.

Preferred:

•            An advanced degree in Business (MBA or similar) is preferred but not essential

•            Give meaningful input into the development of strategy of the Service Line / Business Area in relation to specific area of expertise

•            Implements the strategy within area of business through a detailed plan including:

  • Client targets to achieve revenue
  • Marketing plan

•            Develops productive, credible and trusting relationships with current and targeted clients

•            Validates all SLA’s are in place and signed off by all parties

•            Oversees engagement risk to ensure all required documentation and processes are completed as required by RIL

•            Directs and manages complex client engagements and maintains high level oversight of all projects

•            Analyses weekly/monthly reports from senior managers and approves process changes / innovative solutions on issues arising

•            Drives Deloitte values of exceptional service to clients, growing the firm’s brand and talent development

4.           Development/Growth of Team

•            Identifies and recruits’ suitable talent for team, balancing correct levels and numbers

•            Maintains succession plan for every senior/critical resource, depending on the profile / need expertise

•            Mentors and develops team members on an ongoing basis and empower existing senior managers/leaders

•            Maintains own development and knowledge in specialised area and business

5.           Budgets / Profitability

•            Manages margins effectively through correct budgeting, pricing and profitability management

•            Monitors that time and expenses to engagements are recorded and submitted weekly

•            Negotiates pricing for engagements to ensure profitability whilst maintaining client interests

•            Manages WIP – billings and cash collections

•            Ability to define clear actions for a client to create or capture value

•            Guides clients through critical decision points needed to develop a sustainable, differentiated corporate strategy and market positioning

•            Defines the actions needed and provides direction at the corporate, divisional and functional levels to accomplish a client’s long term objectives

•            Anticipates challenges to strategy implementation and proactively develops plans to mitigate risks

•            Helps clients evaluate the success of strategy based on establishing and monitoring qualitative and quantitative metrics

•            Ability to lead an insight-infused discussion to enable clients to commit to executing on their strategy

•            Uses insight-based approaches to help client clarify priorities and develop a go-forward strategy to drive value into the business

•            Leverages industry trends to advise clients on how to create sustainable sources of advantage and differentiate their value proposition for future business growth, positioning them for long term competitiveness
