About the Department

Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Consulting Department - Cloud Intergration Service Team as a Senior Software Developer. This position will be based in our Dar es Salaam office in Tanzania.

Main purpose of the job

The successful candidate will support Deloitte Cloud Intergration Service Team in developing, implementing, optimising and maintaining cloud-based solutions. You will be responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, implementing new cloud initiatives and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure.

What you will do

• Setup, configuration and maintenance of cloud solutions;
• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions;
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives;
• Designing, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems;
• Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices;
• Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security;
• Identifying, analysing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues;
• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements; and
• Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree of Computer Science or any other related field.
• 2 – 5 years of Prior Professional programming experience.
• Knowledge and Experience in Cloud Services (AWS, Azure etc).
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation etc).
• Knowledge of the key features of cloud service providers.
• Proficient in at least two of the following programming languages (Python, Java, C#, Javascript, TypeScript).
• Knowledge of how to implement Data Structures (List, Arrays, Maps, etc).
• SQL Knowledge and experience.
• Competent in using Command Line Interface (CLI) in Linux, MacOS or any other Unix system.
• Competency in GIT version control system.
• Experience in Jira or other ticket trackers.
• Experience using Confluence Teamwork space.
• Worked as part of a software development team.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
• Experience costs minimisation using cost-control strategies.
• Developing automation solutions to help streamline processes.
• Implementing security measures to protect data from unauthorized access or use.
• Skills in API usage and in SDKs for writing applications.
• Understanding of application lifecycle management.

• Prior leadership or tech lead role.
• Ability to mentor and teach younger developers.
