Deloitte Tanzania has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join our Consulting department as a Controller.

Main Purpose of the job

Oversee the strategic financial management of USAID projects in Africa to ensure appropriate allocation of financial resources for planned activities and sound financial management.

Job Description

  • Provide advice on all strategic financial matters to the Account leadership;
  • Monitor revenue for USAID Africa projects. Ensure all revenue from USAID projects or USAID funded projects is recognized in SAP;
  • Review status reports, from the project finance teams, on the progress of project budgets against the work plans. Hold discussion meetings with the teams to ensure that the projects are on schedule in meeting project objectives and financial performance targets;
  • Review project cash flow projections on a quarterly basis to ensure adequate funding for planned activities;
  • Contribute to periodic reviews on adherence to project internal controls and provide recommendations for improvement;
  • Establish a learning agenda for the project finance teams. Provide training/ capacity building to strengthen the teams’ technical and reporting capability;
  • Receive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and consolidate them for reporting to the account leadership; and
  • Contribute to the coordination of the timely execution of the annual internal and external audits for the projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) holder; and
  • 7 – 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years managerial experience

  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Excellent financial management skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID/ federal financial rules and regulations.
