    Job Description

    Main Purpose 

    • To support the team in providing quality service to clients and other stakeholders on employment tax and personal tax matters relating to global employee long term equity and cash incentive plans, related employment tax withholding calculations, data collation to perform the calculations and reviews of employee incentive plan guides(hereinafter referred to as “employee incentive engagements”).
    • To understand clients’ needs and offer excellent client service and solutions to meet these needs
    • To focus on the efficient project management and delivery of employee incentive engagements/projects and will be responsible for delivering on a number of engagements/projects simultaneously
    • To collaborate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders for the benefit of clients and Deloitte
    • Researching employment tax issues in South Africa on employee incentive engagements
    • Working with colleagues in the Deloitte global network to deliver to multi-national clients
    • Identifies and embraces our purpose and values and puts these into practice in their professional life.

    Differentiators

    • Researching and preparing opinions/SARS letters/client deliverables/ employee incentive calculations on employee incentive engagements by applying personal tax and employment tax laws and where relevant, using applicable Deloitte technology
    • Corresponding with the South African Revenue Service on clients’ tax affairs
    • Build network with other employee incentive professionals across Deloitte member firms

    Technical

    • Sound knowledge of the tax laws governing personal tax and employment tax matters relating to equity employee incentive engagements as contained in the South African Income Tax.
    • Proficient in MS Office suite (specifically, MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
    • MS Visio and SAP S/4Hana experience advantageous

    Qualifications

    B Com/BCom (Law) or equivalent qualification  

    • 2 - 4 years’ experience as a specialist in providing personal tax compliance and/or advisory services in a client-facing role.
    • Sound knowledge of the tax laws governing personal tax and employment tax matters relating to employee incentive engagements as contained in the South African Income Tax Act.
    • Excellent data collation, administrative and MS Excel skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Excellent client engagement and management experience
    • Excellent numerical skills and aptitude
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving and tax technical research skills
    • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and adhere to deadlines is critical

    In addition, the following skills will be an advantage:

    • Good technology skills
    • Good report writing skills
    • Practical insight into the SARS e-Filing directive system
    • MS Visio and SAP S/4Hana experience
    • Experience in employment tax matters relating to employee incentive plans will be an advantage
