Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a manager to become part of the Central Audit & Assurance Quality & Risk Management (QRM)team with a focus on A&A Advisory Services. We are looking for a solution- and process-focused individual with strong multi-tasking skills and who wants to be part of a diverse and dynamic team. This position will provide a great opportunity to play a vital role in enabling Deloitte to serve its clients whilst managing risk and protecting our reputation and brand.

The role

Play an integral and visible role within the firm – This role will be responsible for providing critical support to the firm and its practitioners in respect of all independence & conflict matters – both personal- and client-related – all aspects related to business relationships – both marketplace and vendor type relationships. 

  • Interpreting, applying and providing technical advice on independence & conflict policies and regulation (IESBA, Companies Act, SEC, Deloitte Policy Manuals) for A&A Advisory partners, directors and professional staff at all levels within the business, and for all services and clients within the business.
  • Manage the Annual Independence Declaration process for the A&A Advisory – evaluating all findings and reporting back to the central RIL team.
  • Manage the Independence Due Diligence work Stream for A&A Advisory Acquisitions.
  • Support the A&A Advisory Monitoring Team with Client & Engagement Acceptance Testing of Restricted Entities.
  • High computer literacy, with solid working experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word; advanced Excel would be an advantage).
  • Management consulting and/or project management experience would be useful.
  • Experience in compliance management and governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal business communication skills and an excellent proficiency in English – written & oral.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, including facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Delivery- and action-focused, and persistence and perseverance in driving issues to resolution.
  • Mature attitude with the ability to apply sound judgement to matters.
  • Lateral thinker capable of strategic and analytical thinking, with pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to grasp abstract concepts/complex situations.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks to completion; good follow-up skills.
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to work on multiple simultaneous activities, apply prioritisation, and negotiate deadlines.
  • Experienced in leveraging a matrixed organisation to deliver results.
  • Project experience, to understand the dynamics of the project environment and the related issues.
  • Strong process-based mind-set and the ability to design and implement effective processes.
  • Strong personal attributes relating to discipline, meticulous attention to detail, assertiveness, change and getting things done.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and results-driven environment, and an ability to work under pressure, coupled with strong conflict management and negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Good understanding of the principles of risk management and the ability to develop and present risk views with appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Good understanding of the principles of quality management and the ability to apply these in a practical manner.
  • Solid numeracy and financial skills.
  • Able to conduct meetings and workshops, and deliver presentations skilfully.
  • Self-motivated, high energy levels, enthusiastic, committed, dynamic and driven.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance in a highly motivated and dynamic team.
