Job Description

Main purpose of the job

The successful candidate will effectively manage assigned projects and teams and pursue business opportunities to meet assigned revenue targets and in addition, promote our leadership capabilities which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction, and talent development.

What you will do

  • Support the Partner on delivery of designated engagements/projects and manage the implementation of the agreed deliverables;
  • Manage engagement budgets through accurate budgeting, cost control, right staffing and profitability management;
  • Manage Work in Progress (WIP) on engagements and ensure billings are timeously done and collections followed up;
  • Prepare project plans to meet objectives within established budget and timelines and recognize when plans should be adjusted to meet objectives;
  • Team with others to produce high-quality work and ensure a superior client experience;
  • Comprehend how the client’s business works and keep up to date with industry/sector trends and leading practices;
  • Assess client business / technical landscape and surface courses of action; appreciate the larger ecosystem required to solve business problems;
  • Communicate business objectives and desired outcomes to guide the work of others;
  • Identify relevant business trends, economic forces, and industry practices and be able to confidently discuss with clients;
  • Build a personal brand and support eminence building in chosen industry/sector;
  • Leverage knowledge of solutions and past experiences with other clients to support sales pursuits and drive new business;
  • Assess the financial aspects of business opportunities; identify and quantify financial and non-financial benefits of proposed solutions;
  • Build a global network of subject matter experts within the chosen sector and leverage on the Firm’s global resources to support sales pursuits and engagements,
  • Manage cross-geography teams effectively, flexing to cultural differences and shared views on project quality, objectives and outcomes; and
  • Recognize opportunities for broader business/technology offerings across Consulting and connect the services.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

  •  A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Commerce or a related field from a recognized university.
  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Human Resource management, Business or related field from a recognized university is an added advantage.
  • An Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)/Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) /Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualification is an added advantage.
  • At least six (6) years’ working experience in a professional organization, designing and executing Human Resources (HR) management strategies, with activities including organization development & change, reward management, and/or HR technology implementation.
  • At least three (3) years in a professional services firm, managing a team in client facing role.
  • Demonstrable capabilities in business development and client relationship management.
  • Demonstrated Project/team management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in proposal writing and tendering bids.
  • Understanding of business operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal learning and development.
  • Ability to act as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent; and
  • Be a Ugandan citizen or eligible to work in Uganda.
