Job Description

The Chief of Staff is a senior level position that provides direct support to the Africa and Consulting Operate Leader in ensuring that the Operate business achieves its strategic objectives. The Chief of Staff will work closely with the Operate leader and the rest of the senior leadership team across Deloitte Consulting and Green Dot Operate to lead the priorities, strategic initiatives and track progress against them. They will help to manage critical decision making and internal communication processes.

Main Purpose of Job

This role is to enable leadership to be stewards of Market Focus, Differentiation, and Firm Success, to help shape future Operate capability in our global network, create and deliver assets that enable integrated market offerings, leverage regional capabilities to support optimization of our MDM model to win in the market, and enabling the build in both our under-scale markets and next-generation offerings.

Act as a point of contact, help to drive consistency, simplify operations, enable talent development and performance management. To promote our leadership capabilities, which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction and talent development.

Leadership engagement

To be the central point of contact/engine room for all engagement with the Operate leader

  • Input into the development of / coordinate Operate strategy (with programme lead)
  • Design, plan and run 1:1 leadership meetings (with Deloitte Consulting and Africa Operate leaders, extended Operate leadership etc.)
  • Design, plan and run other meetings (with strategic priorities, MF all hands calls etc.)
  • Coordination and prioritizing engagements
  • Responsible for cascading information/takeaways from leadership calls to the Core operate team
  • Working with Operate Programme lead in creating content for leadership to present at global conferences
  • Point of contact to provide Operate updates on the Global Communication platform; for L1, L2 chief of staff for Operate updates
  • Coordinate and input into global Offering marketing activities and investments including eminence agenda, campaigns, channel activity, analyst relations, etc.

Business Operations (incl. Finance and Performance)

  • Be aligned with Operate knowledge manager on KX Quals, Knowledge Management, etc.
  • Be aligned with Sales workstream lead on sales and pipeline, revenue metrics for Operate
  • Be aligned with Delivery workstream lead on CDA guidebooks, GDN strategy, S&OP
  • Work with leader/program lead on KPI dashboard development
  • Working/collaboration with program lead on financial planning / budget management for Global Operate; Resource management / capacity planning / pricing for resources
  • Work with leader on year end Partner impact/contribution collation for Global Consulting/Offerings leadership
  • Oversee maintaining Operate Leadership org charts (wherever they are referenced, e.g, distribution lists, KX pages)
  • Assisting Operate leader in prioritizing meetings/diaries
  • Co-develop and execute against FY23 plan with leader/program lead

Marketing and Eminence

  • Work with marketing for white paper identification
  • Managing, maintaining, and documenting eminence, content that is developed or socialized by the team
  • Keeping abreast with marketplace trends relevant to Operate
  • Managing and overseeing the creation of Operate video messaging

Change and Communications

  • Managing and overseeing strategic projects under this workstream. Deloitte Resources page (alongside the knowledge manager),
  • Preparing and arranging for townhalls
  • Newsletter rollout
  • Drive communication and build networks across Offering/Portfolio leadership team includes creating and managing the communications plan (including and not restricted to)
  • Managing social media presence (external and internal)
  • Participation in change network (with Green Dot teams)

Minimum requirements

  • 8 to 15 years’ experience within a tier one professional services firm
  • Client facing experience
  • Ability to execute projects
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation
  • Industry and business knowledge
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Skilled in drafting and presenting client proposals
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good financial knowledge

 

 

Qualifications

  • Appropriate B. Degree a minimum, MBA preferable
