Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

  • Support the Africa Public Interest Affairs Team in the planning and execution of its Regulatory Affairs and Public policy mandate

Strategic Impact

  • Supports leadership in the delivery of services to internal clients in line with the defined strategic objectives:
    • Provides support to management in the implementation of change initiatives
    • Works with team to complete work by set deadlines advising manager of any issues prior to deadlines
  • Develops relationships with peer group at client to understand their business
  • Raises effective solutions to address issues in area of expertise that may enhance / renew service offerings to clients

  • Effective use of time, equipment, and resource

  • Project management and co-ordination of non-market stakeholder policy across Africa
  • managing the Africa-wide relationship owner network and ongoing co-ordination for firm’s MFS 4 Regulatory & Public Policy submissions
  • tracking and monitoring of the regulatory engagement plan and firm’s commitments to key non-market stakeholders across Africa
  • Support in drafting comment letters and position papers relating to key areas of regulatory and public policy focus, including written submissions to governments on proposed legislation, POVs, talking points, and thought leadership as appropriate
  • Co-ordinating quarterly communication with RPP community across Africa
  • Conduct desktop research to support key regulatory affairs and public policy focus areas
  • Monitoring of external developments in non-market environments across Africa to support RPP sensing activities
  • Project management and co-ordination of RPP initiatives including co-ordination of RPP-led events with internal/external stakeholder teams (e.g., high profile fireside chats, panel events)
  • Assist with regular team reporting for Executive/Board submissions.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA/LLB or similar with at least 5 years of experience
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, professional services environment, or knowledge of South African/African financial and non-financial reporting landscape is an advantage.
