About the Department

Deloitte (Uganda) Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join our Tax, Legal & BPS - Tax department as an Administrative Assistant. We are looking for innovative, agile, driven, engaging and proactive people to support in taking our Tax business to the next level. This position will be based in our Kampala office in Uganda.

Job Description

Main purpose of the job

The candidate will provide efficient administrative support for internal clients especially the Management Team in the Tax Department.

What you will do 

·       Provide administrative support for internal clients (such as Management Team of the Tax department);

·       Develop a good working relationship with all levels of staff in the Tax department;

·       Coordinate and arrange logistics for meetings, conferences, entertainment and attend department meetings to prepare minutes;

·       File and manage documentation related to engagements and projects;

·       Prepare and edit presentations, proposals, contracts, letters, professional business communication documents including invoices;

·       Assist in the preparation, co-ordination & tracking of proposals/tenders and presentations upon request;

·       Work closely with the Clients & Industries (C&I) team to ensure that reports and proposals prepared are in line with the Firm’s brand and communication standards, maintain a complete record of all proposals and correspondences;

·       Assist in the preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations on request;

·       Support in planning of sales presentations and client negotiation teams for new and retained business;

·       Assist the department in debtor and Work in Progress (WIP) management;

·       Support with risk processes related to client service and delivery; and

·       Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience 

·       A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Social Sciences, Humanities or Administrative Studies or other degree;

·       1-3 years’ professional experience in an administrative or office management role;

·       A secretarial qualification is an added advantage;

·       Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional approach at all times;

·       Advanced MS Office knowledge (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word);

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

·       Experience with recognised organisation is an added advantage; and

·       Be a Ugandan citizen or eligible to work in Uganda.

·       Stakeholder focus – Leverage a deep understanding of Tax services and stakeholder needs to deliver high quality engagements.

·        Apply ethical and professional standards - Compliance with auditing and accounting standards, relevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws and regulations), ethical standards, independence requirements and the audit firm's quality control procedures.
