Deloitte (Uganda) Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for one (1) dynamic individual to join our Consulting – Strategy & Operations team as a Manager. We are looking for an innovative, dynamic, agile, driven, engaging and proactive person to take our Consulting business to the next level. This position will be based in our Kampala office in Uganda.

Job Description

Main purpose of the job

The incumbent will effectively manage assigned projects and teams and participate in building the portfolio of Consulting clients in Uganda and East Africa. You will be expected to promote our leadership capabilities which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction, and talent development.

What you will do

  • Support the Partner on delivery of designated engagement / project, managing the implementation of the agreed deliverables.
  • Manage engagement budgets through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management.
  • Manage Work in Progress (WIP) on engagements and ensure billings are timeously done and collections followed up.
  • Team with others to produce a high-quality work products to ensure a superior client experience.
  • Comprehend how the client’s business works and keep up to date on industry/sector trends and leading practices.
  • Identify and solve problems objectively using analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • Incorporate financial information when evaluating business opportunities and making recommendations.
  • Identify and transform opportunities into solutions that drive business value for our clients.
  • Develop relationships, establish credibility with and instill confidence in clients.
  • Leverage cross-geography insights and practitioners to enhance client service delivery; and,
  • Articulate how technology enables and differentiates the business and communicate this effectively to clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Associate Director or Partner.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    •  A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
    • A recognized accounting or consulting qualification such as Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP).
    • A master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • A minimum of eight (8) years working experience  consulting space with  at least three (3) years in a professional services firm.
    • Preferably two (2) years work experience at management level.
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively seek out new business opportunities.
    • Demonstrated experience in proposal writing and successful bidding.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written especially in report writing .
    • Good stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience in Financial management and/or business management in a corporate or private company.
    • Demonstrated Project/team management skills.
    • Understanding of business operational efficiency.
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal learning and development.
    • Ability to act as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent; and
    • Be a Ugandan citizen or eligible to work in Uganda.
