Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

Develop and implement robust and well considered Industry marketing strategies aligned to the business strategy and objectives for the Life Science & Health Care and Government & Public Sector Industries.

Key Performance Areas:
Strategic Impact 

  • Interrogates, clearly understand and communicates the agreed strategic objectives of the industry and of C&I as a whole and translates this into a marketing strategy that supports the firm in achieving its Industry revenue targets
  • Understands service offerings and products of the firm and understands and supports the business growth targets, remaining current on industry performance, client news and market developments

Financial management

  • Provides input into annual budget to line manager and Industry strategist for drafting of marketing budget.
  • Compile campaign budgets and campaign performance reports for stakeholders.

Differentiators for this specific role

Marketing strategy development 

  • Develop a robust and well considered strategic marketing plan, aligned to Industry business strategy and objectives – with particular focus on Industry bold plays & growth platforms – for both the Life Science & Health Care (LSCH) and Government & Public Sector (GPS) Industries.
  • Performs competitor research and analysis.
  • Displays subject matter expertise and strategic insight

Implementation of Strategy & Marketing Plans 

  • Manage and monitors implementation of the LSHC & GPS industry marketing plans.
  • Facilitate the development of marketing collateral, including but not limited to relevant online and digital content.
  • Track and measure performance, including ROI and assessing channel effectiveness.
  • Keep industry community informed of marketing activities across the firm and drive connectivity between industry, service line and firm-wide marketing initiatives.
  • Implement and drive Account Based Marketing on selected client accounts.
  • Provide marketing support on selected Market Offerings and Industry executive learning courses.
  • Provide marketing support on selected Client programmes.

Brand Centricity

  • Consistently complies with Deloitte brand and corporate identity guidelines and produces documents and work of appropriate quality and compliance.
  • Actively include brand positioning in outputs. 
  • Ensure that strategic themes are integrated into the Industry & Account Based Marketing plans.

People Management 

  • Effective performance management of team members that enables the team to grow and thrive.
  • Provides constructive, timely feedback on a weekly basis or more often if required.
  • Technical mentoring and guidance in strategic marketing.
  • Effective performance management based on the team members specific needs.
  • Active development of team members towards their learning, development and milestone goals.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the team and Industry programme members.
  • Builds professional relationships with stakeholders, C&I teams and global MF counterparts. 
  • Seek opportunities for collaboration across marketing and broader C&I teams

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: B Degree (Marketing/ communications/ commerce)
  • Desired Qualification: Postgraduate qualification (Marketing/ communications/ commerce)
  • Minimum Experience: 7 years’ working experience within the relevant function
  • Desired Experience: 2 years at Senior Consultant level within the function
