Job Description

We are looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our Deloitte Analytics practice. You will have the opportunity to work with our Insurance team in understanding and implementing the IFRS 17 accounting standard for our clients, from a data and systems perspective. While it is advantageous to have IFRS 17 knowledge, it is not a pre-requisite for the position; we are looking for strong data expertise. You must have a keen interest in the insurance space and a strong desire to gain the knowledge required to advise on and implement the data and solutions specific to IFRS 17.

Typical project tasks will include, performing gap analysis between client data and the data requirements specific to IFRS 17, performing requirements analysis, detailing client process and data flows, assistance in developing engineering pipelines, data management and analytics solutions.

Technical Competencies

•       Practical knowledge of insurance processes and operations

•       Practical knowledge of IFRS17 from a data and systems perspective

•       Demonstrated project exposure

•       Consulting skills

•       Sound financial knowledge and understanding

Qualifications

Preference will be provided to candidates with bachelor’s degree or related qualifications/ experience such as:

•       Bachelor of Commerce

•       Information technology or business informatics

•       Computer science or engineering

•       Other relevant data and analytics qualifications

Experience

•      3 - 5 years practical experience gained within the Insurance industry, in Life and/ or General with exposure to Insurance processes, operations, data and innovation

•       Experience in data projects (IFRS 17 highly advantageous)

•       Demonstrated ability with assisting businesses in deriving value from existing data

•       Experience with financial systems and processes

•       Previous consulting experience will be advantageous

•       Digital transformation experience will be useful
