Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for managing the Southern Africa reporting team
  • Accountable for the delivery and operations of the Southern Africa reporting function

Strategic Impact

Client = Internal Service Line or Service area for which the Finance Partner is responsible for

  • Contributes to input on Finance and Client strategy based on area of expertise
  • Leads implementation of strategy plans agreed by leadership of Finance and Client including:

→ Development of content for identified change initiatives and drive implementation of these

→ Setting of implementation plans with team/s including timelines, actions and measures for success

→ Delegation to skilled subordinates to deliver where applicable

→ Defined communication process to Finance and Client leadership and team members

→ Timely and detailed reporting on status of implementation to leadership

  • Provides significant support to Finance and Client leadership in communication and implementation of strategic objectives
  • Understands the EXCO mandate for Finance and communicates this clearly to team/s
  • Builds strong professional relationships across client to understand business needs in area of responsibility
  • Establishes and maintains external business relationships within area of expertise to collaborate on, understand and share best practice
  • Based on expertise and experience, advises and supports Finance and client leadership in identification and implementation of innovative solutions to issues arising within area of expertise

Budgets / Profitability

  • Provides annual budget input for area of responsibility for approval and integration into Finance budget
  • Manages costs for designated area and ensures time and expenses are submitted weekly

Southern Africa Reporting:

Monthly Exco packs:

  • Review monthly Exco packs with account analysis
  • Review Revenue reports
  • Review working capital reports

Monthly Balance sheet recons:

  • Review monthly balance sheet recons

Board packs:

  • Review Southern Africa board packs with results analysis
  • Review documentation required for the Finance committee meetings

Adhoc reporting requests:

  • Review reports/responses to adhoc reporting requests

Annual Integration reports:

  • Assist with coordination and perform final review of the preparation of the Regional Annual Financial Statements
  • Review consolidated financial sections Annual Integrated report

Budget and Forecasts:

  • Monitor and review the completion and submission of the budget
  • Review the budget and forecast Exco reports with results analysis
  • Review the budget and forecast Board packs with results analysis

DTTL Reporting:

  • Review and signoff on all DTTL monthly reporting requirements for submission to Southern Africa CFO

Insurance:

  • Manage all South African insurance processes including the renewal process
  • Manage the Africa Professional Indemnity insurance process including the annual renewal process

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • CA (SA)

Desired Qualifications

  • CA (SA) at one of the big four

Minimum Experience

  • 8 years in finance

Desired Experience

  • 3 of those in a management role
