Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

To manage the delivery of the Deloitte Private Africa strategy (80%) and Audit-to-Relationship programme (20%), with guidance from the Clients & Industry (C&I) leadership, Deloitte Private leader and C&I Industry Programme and Market Offerings Leader. This position requires proven business leadership capabilities.

Key Performance Areas:

Strategic impact

  • Contributes to input on strategy for Deloitte Private and Deloitte Audit-to-Relationship Programme based on area of expertise
  • Conduct market and client analysis when required

Leads implementation of strategy plans agreed by leadership of Deloitte Private and Audit-to-Relationship and client service area/s including:- -

  • Developing content and leading implementation for key initiatives identified for inter alia of key strategic business development, client strategies and go-to-market initiatives across the continent and service lines
  • Setting of implementation plans with team/s including timelines, actions and measures for success
  • Working with Clients & Industries service areas and service lines across the Firm to deliver on initiatives
  • Aligning internal and external stakeholders and defining a communication process to leadership and team members
  • Timely and detailed reporting on status of implementation to leadership

Provides significant support to leadership in implementation and communication of the Firm's strategic objectives

Understands the EXCO mandate to Service Area and communicates this clearly to team/s

Builds strong professional relationships and partnerships across delegated service line/s to understand business needs in area of responsibility

Establishes and maintains external business relationships within area of expertise to collaborate on, understand and share best practice

Based on expertise and experience, advises and supports Service Line leadership in identification and implementation of innovative solutions to issues arising within area of expertise

Leverage global Deloitte Private, Audit-to-Relationship and C&I activities and infrastructure

Coordinate Deloitte Private and Audit-to-Relationship across regions and service lines

 

Client Impact: External / Internal

  • Manage the Family Enterprise Hub with guidance from the Family Enterprise and Deloitte Private Leaders
  • Manage the A2R process, pipeline and priority client transitions working closely with Industry Leaders, Client Leaders and the C&I Industry & Market Offerings Leader
  • Manages quality and timeliness of day-to-day deliverables in area of expertise to client(s)
  • Monitors delivery by teams against client expectations
  • Gives direction and support to teams on client requirements and team achievements
  • Provides client management with sound professional advice and support across broad area of issues arising within area of expertise
  • Demonstrates Deloitte value of exceptional service to internal and external clients through personal example, growing the firm’s brand and talent development
  • Proactively identifies client service and technical issues and independently implement resolutions to address these

Business Development and Go-To-Market Strategies

In line with Deloitte Private strategic initiatives, develop and execute on business development plans and go-to-market strategies, including but not limited to:

  • Outlining the Deloitte Private value proposition per market segment
  • Working with the Family Enterprise Hub and Deloitte Private leader on identifying, developing and closing opportunities for the Firm at priority clients
  • Go-to-market plans per Deloitte Private market segment, including thought leadership and eminence plan

Collaborating with C&I service areas, contributing and overseeing execution of marketing and communication campaigns and client events; including public relations and the development of marketing collateral

Collaborating with C&I services areas responsible for execution to ensure that the Deloitte Private website remains relevant and updated

Operational Effectiveness and Reporting

  • Coordinate, schedule and manage the Deloitte Private and Audit to Relationship meetings and forums
  • Keeps Service Line /Area leadership teams updated on status of all projects within area of responsibility
  • Ensure compliance with established Deloitte Quality and Risk Management guidelines, for all Deloitte Private and Audit to Relationship activities
  • Manages complex risk issues within sphere of responsibility ensuring issues are rectified as soon as possible
  • Contributes to the negotiation, conclusion, and management of contracts with service providers and other stakeholders
  • Prepare Deloitte Private and Audit-to-Relationship reports for local and global use
  • Monitor and oversee accurate and timely reporting to ensure a wide view of data related to Deloitte Private and A2R that enables visibility, informed decision-making

Budgets / Profitability

  • Provides annual Deloitte Private budget input for area of responsibility for approval and integration into Service Area budget
  • Manages the annual Deloitte Private budget, including costs for designated area and ensures time and expenses are submitted weekly

Honours degree

Desired Qualification

  • Postgraduate qualification (relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc.)

Desired Experience

  • 5+ years of business experience, specializing in marketing, business development or client strategies. At least 2 year at manager level
