Deloitte (Uganda) Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join our Consulting – Strategy & Operations team as a Consultant. This position will be based in our Uganda office in Kampala.

What you will do /Specialized Competencies

 Key Performance Areas 

  • Support the Partner on delivery of designated engagements/projects and managing the implementation of the agreed deliverables;
  • Use information through research, documentation, standard processes to provide output for assimilation into the engagement deliverables;
  • Contribute to the regional and business areas winning business strategy and targets, including contribution to Industry Manager initiatives and cross service line selling and collaboration;
  • Manage engagement budget through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management
  • Manage engagements and ensures billings are timeously done and collections followed up;
  • Manage own work against the project plan to ensure a superior client experience;
  • Ability to diagnose a problem, conduct analysis, and develop solutions for client problems;
  • Gather and interpret financial information to help strengthen proposed recommendations;
  • Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas in a clear and composed manner to instill confidence in team and clients; 
  • Present a cogent idea or case using clear and concise messaging, and support using appropriate data and tools;
  • Effectively interact with colleagues and clients of varying backgrounds to effectively serve clients;
  • Recognize technology as a business enabler; and
  • Ability to develop and share reusable assets that can be readily applied to new projects. 

Qualifications

Required 

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university;
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage;
  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in a Client facing role;
  • Qualification in specific area e.g.  ACCA, CPA, PMP is an added advantage;
  • Experience in Financial management and/or business management in a corporate or private company;
  • Project/team management skills;
  • Understanding of business operational efficiency is an added advantage;
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal learning and development; acts as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent; and
  • Be a Ugandan Citizen.

Technical Competencies 

  • Experience in drafting and presenting client proposals;
  • Good project and team management skills;
  • Excellent research and report writing skills;
  • Good financial knowledge and sound business acumen;
  • Analytical skills and possibly past Audit/Accounting exposure;
  • Strategy skills;
  • Focus on quality and risk; and
  • Well-developed computer user skills with proficiency in Microsoft applications including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Strong client delivery focus;
  • Adaptable, managing change and ambiguity with ease; and
  • Sound problem solving ability.
