Job Description

1. Job Description – Associates

The successful candidate will be responsible for mainly executing assigned tasks on projects, managing low risk engagements when the opportunity arises, providing team leadership to junior and less experienced team members and playing key roles on business and industry thought leadership projects. Aside Client deliverables, the successful candidate will contribute to developing and improving skills, knowledge, and performance of junior team members.

The specific responsibilities of the successful candidate will involve one or more of the below tasks amongst others:

  • Deal Origination and Business Development: Proposal and Expression of Interest preparations
  • Business valuation and modelling: Undertaking business valuations and developing financial models
  • Infrastructure and Capital Projects (ICP) Services: Transaction advisory services for Project Finance and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects
  • Buy-side and sell-side advisory services: Using both historic and predictive data to help companies (“vendors”) and investors (“buyers”) to focus on key risks and opportunities that drive value in Target businesses and helping clients to maximize value from their transactions.
  • Corporate Finance Services: Developing business plans, feasibility studies and capital raising, investing, optimising and preserving capital.
  • Restructuring Services: Assisting corporate Clients with turnaround strategies to help restructure the operations and finances of distressed businesses.

 

2. Job Description – Senior Associates

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engagements, providing exceptional high-level leadership to junior and less experienced team members and playing roles on business and industry thought leadership projects. The successful candidate will be tasked with one or more of the below responsibilities amongst others:

  • Deal Origination and Business Development: Networking, meetings, and proposal preparations to originate businesses.
  • Business valuation and modelling: Undertaking business valuations and developing financial models for purposes of facilitating:
    • Strategic decision-making,
    • Mergers and acquisitions advisory services,
    • Project finance advisory services,
    • Private equity deals,
    • Transaction pricing,
    • Bid evaluations, and
    • Business restructuring services.
  • Infrastructure and Capital Projects (ICP) Services: Transaction advisory services for Project Finance and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects
  • Buy-side and sell-side advisory services: Using both historic and predictive data to help companies (“vendors”) and investors (“buyers”) to focus on key risks and opportunities that drive value in Target businesses and helping clients to maximize value from their transactions.
  • Corporate Finance Services: Developing business plans, feasibility studies and capital raising, investing, optimising and preserving capital.
  • Restructuring Services: Assisting corporate Clients with turnaround strategies to help restructure the operations and finances of distressed businesses.
  • Internal resource management: Contributing to the development and improvement of the skills, knowledge, and performance of junior or less experienced team members through participation in, and facilitation of, internal trainings and on-the-job trainings.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., BBA, B.Com) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent with a minimum of second class upper degree
  • A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management or related field from a reputable university will be an added advantage
  • Candidate must possess certifications in at least one of the following: ICAG, ACCA, ICAEW or CFA Institute (or level three candidate)
  • At least 3-4 years’ relevant experience

Person Specification

  • Must have in-depth experience in leading teams for pursuits or engagement delivery in any of the ‘Big 4” accounting firms or an investment bank (For Senior Associate role only)
  • Be of proven integrity, giving attention to confidentiality requirements
  • Possess excellent writing and oral communication/presentation skills
  • Very strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Market leadership skills
  • Business development skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and quickly learn new ideas independently
  • Be a good team player, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Always have the ability to maintain a professional outlook and carriage
