Main Purpose of the Job

Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join our Tax and Legal team as an Immigration Manager. The holder of this position will ensure that all client assignments are carried out to the highest standards in order to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm; develop high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters; and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing travel Visas for foreigners, various work authorizations - work permits/special passes and other immigration related duties.
  • Ensuring preparation of proposals and engagement letters and client take on procedures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Managing the team to ensure client deliverables and deadlines are met;
  • Managing working capital and debtors for the immigration client portfolio.
  • Liaising with the relevant Government ministries/departments on expectations and other policy matters.
  • Business development aimed at growing the Immigration portfolio/business;
  • Budgets and profitability - managing engagement budgets & profitability through accurate budgeting, cost control and the right resourcing mix.
  • Immigration Laws and regulations –applies his/her knowledge on the practice trends, current immigration and proposed/pending legislation, their implications and understanding the interaction with Global mobility tax.
  • Managing day to day client communication and building value adding client relationships.
  • Training and coaching (classroom and on-job) the junior staff.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Economics, Business Administration or other related fields.
  • At least 6 years post-qualification experience with an international auditing/accountancy Firm/Immigration Firm/Government Immigration department.
  • Professional qualifications are an added advantage.
