Deloitte Technical Mining Advisory (DTMA) is a specialised mining industry advisory team within Deloitte Consulting, providing technical advisory services to the broader Deloitte firm, and the mining industry as a whole.

Our professionals help clients identify and solve their most critical information and technology challenges, including strategy, procurement, design, delivery and assurance of technology solutions.

Job Description

 

Main Purpose of Job:

To support Leadership in the delivery of services to clients on delegated engagements/projects.  Develop high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters, and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Provides advice to mining companies on a range of issues
  • Contributes to operational improvement projects for mining clients
  • Assists in strategy formulation for mining companies
  • Performs Mineral Asset Valuations related to asset disposals/acquisition pricing, Competent Persons Reports (CPRs), Purchase Price Allocation (PPAs) and Fair and Reasonable Opinions
  • Assists with mineral reserve estimations and reporting
  • Displays working knowledge of mine planning processes and mine planning software
  • Reviews mine designs and life of mine plans for Audit purposes and Independent Reviews
  • Holds capabilities and experience in a diverse range of DTMA’s offerings including:
    • Competent Persons Reporting
    • Due Diligence
    • Financial Modelling
    • Subject Matter Expert work for strategy, audit and management consulting

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Qualifications in any of the following would be a distinct advantage:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Whilst not a strict requirement, an MBA or Masters in the relevant field of study is a definite advantage

8-12 years’ working experience including 5 years onsite mine experience across a range of mining disciplines. Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Mining focused role either within management consulting or corporate with at least 5 years in a client facing role and 3 of these in a management role.

Professionally registered and able to act as a Competent Person for Mineral Reserves in at least one commodity.
