Job Description
Main purpose of job
To assists the Senior Finance Manager or Finance Manager in providing financial support to the Service Line.
Manages less complex or smaller P&Ls than the Senior Finance Manager or Finance Manager. Aligns, implements and embeds COE and SSC driven initiatives and technologies at the Service Line level
Responsible for P&L finances and works together with the COE and SSC teams to ensure smooth finance operations for the Service Line / P&L
Responsible for approvals and reviews relating to Finance.

Strategic Impact
Supports leadership in the delivery of services to clients in line with the defined strategic objectives:
- Provides support to management in the implementation of change initiatives
- Works with team to complete work by set deadlines advising manager of any issues prior to deadlines
Differentiators for this specific role:
Budgeting, Forecasting and Target setting
• Assists with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the P&L / Service Area
• Assists with setting targets for P&Ls, including productivity and revenue targets down to partner, staff and project level where applicable
Financial Reporting
- Prepares monthly results reporting pack and commentary (Service Area requirements)
- Reviews and analyses monthly results before sending to Finance Manager for final sign off
- Reviews the balance sheet and income statement for the Service Area
- Review and sign off balance sheet recon for the Service Area
- Reports performance against KPIs and North Stars
Strategic analyses and driving target achievement
- Analyses performance and efficiency
- Supports Service Areas with regards to managing working capital
- Interrogates working capital and revenue before and after EM rollover
- Assists with the implementation of cost reduction plans in the Service Area
- Analyses utilisation and productivity
Approvals, Reviews and Requests & Controls
- Reviews and approves journals (including manual journals to project codes)
- Reviews the pricing of contracts and projects
- Supports reviews of payroll for the Service Areas
- Approves credit notes
- Approves purchase requests/orders
- Approves general journals to Service Area cost centers
- Reviews and approves payroll report
- Reviews revenue monthly
- Requests accruals and provisions to be raised
- Requests new or updates to cost/profit centers and chart of accounts
- Reviews project spend monthly
- Implements internal controls where applicable
- Drives financial disciplines in project accounting
Petty Cash (where applicable)
- Manages petty cash float
Debtors
- Reviews debtors monthly
- Assists with escalated debt collection
Qualifications
Required
- Degree (Hons in Finance / Accounting)
- 4 years in finance
Preferred
- Post-Graduate qualification in Finance / Accounting
- 5 years in finance
