Main Purpose of Job:

To support the business in terms of BI reporting support calls. Under supervision develop any reporting development requirements and changes to existing reports. This is to ensure that the business is supported for the SAC, AFO and Microsoft BI Suite of products.

To create simple dashboards for the business to enable management reporting. Create and maintain ETL solutions and Cubes and assist in Global data submissions. Initial focus is on the MS BI landscape with development into the SAC and SAP BW landscape

• Assist in the delivery of business information from SAP and other application data sources in Africa to manage and administer BI environment guided by more senior staff

Monitoring of data loads and process chains

• Assisting the Senior Developer to monitoring loads each morning and evening the BI data loads and business process chains to ensure that there are no errors
• Review of error logs to ensure successful loads and resolution of issues
• Rectify and work with senior developer to resolve issues
• Monitor scheduled batch jobs
• Monitor BI data loads
• Monitor MS data loads and error logs

Manage Testing

• Testing of all developed programs in QA (Quality) before moving to Production
• Perform User Acceptance testing
• Resolve UAT queries with senior developer/manager
• Perform adhoc detailed testing – SAP /windows upgrades and other technology or SAP enhancement packs
• Develop test scripts
• Sign off test results
• Conducting Integration testing with other Modules and platforms
• Management of MS Power BI testing with business users
• Ensuring integration testing of data from various sources

Data Quality and Governance Facilitation and reconciliation reports

• Conducting adhoc data quality audits on specific areas
• Review daily reconciliation reports to ensure that there are no issues
• Notification of issues to the ERP reporting manager
• Working with the SAP functional teams to understand additional requirements to assist in data quality audits
• Review of error logs and recommendations

Technical Configuration and Development of the BI Solution

• Work with the senior developer on development of new requirements
• Documentation of requirements into technical specifications for new developments
• Designing data solutions to satisfy defined business requirements
• Identifying the data in the source environment
• Working on tasks on the SAP BW Task List
• Working on Tasks on the MS BI task list
• Performing changes to existing MS BI development
• Enhance queries and models as required by the business and defined by the senior developer
• Define authorization profiles and access

Technical competencies

Technical

• Basic working knowledge of MS BI models (SSAS), ETL (SSIS) Reporting (Power BI, SSRS, AFO and SAC) and background processes

• Fundamental Knowledge of MS Power BI

• Microsoft SSIS and Reporting Services working knowledge

• 2 years working experience within an IT organization
