Job Description

Job Outline

This project manager role (PMO Lead) is responsible for planning and directing the partners, associated directors, managers and managers of the Audit Evolution and Enablement division (AE&E) while they fulfil their responsibilities across Deloitte Africa.  The PMO Lead will monitor the AE&E team’s work and take corrective action when activities do not happen according to agreed project plans.

The PMO Lead will be responsible to guide the partners of the AE&E to ensure appropriate risk identification and risk mitigation plans are in place and actioned.  In addition, the PMO Lead will oversee the various work streams and direct the team members to ensure work streams have appropriate deployment plans in place and action tasks according to these agreed plans.

The PMO Lead will also be responsible for overseeing the communication and service delivery of the hosted audit IT infrastructure and associated services supplied to Deloitte Middle East member firm.

The PMO Lead will manage the seven central PMO office staff as well as the six regional project managers. 

Responsibilities:

General

  • Provide project management guidance to the AE&E team which comprises of partners, associated directors,  managers, managers and staff within Deloitte Africa.
  • Ensuring clarity around priorities and goals for each of the functional areas that make up the Audit Transformation initiative within Deloitte Africa.
  • Work with peers of others disciplines such as Risk Advisory and Information Technology Services, to ensure collaboration so as to successfully achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Regular interaction with management and report on progress when required.
  • Work with management and other peers to develop strategies and the execution of these strategies. 
  • Manage and provide technical guidance to the AE&E Project Management Office team that currently comprises:
    • Six Project Managers – one in each of the member firms of Deloitte Africa;
    • Three Project Managers;
    • One Learning Coordinator;
    • One Demand Planner;
    • One Communications and Change Manager; and
    • One Financial Manager. 
  • Facilitate the creation of goal-driven initiatives that address the requirements for timely deployments of AE&E’s strategies.
  • Work with all levels of management to ensure programme/project goals and objectives cascade down to all team members throughout Deloitte Africa.
  • Accountable for the development of Project Charters that include the definition, measurement capabilities and ensuring the delivery of project objectives and benefits, including critical success factors for each project initiated by AE&E.

Qualifications

Minimum technical experience requirements

  • Relevant qualification
  • Client facing project manager experiences running a number of medium to large projects simultaneously
  • A proven track record of at least five years “hands-on” business leadership and project management involvement.
  • Auditing background preferable, but not necessary
  • Sound working knowledge of:
    • SAP
