To support service / business area leadership in the implementation of strategic plan through the effective management of team/s.

  • Maintains high level oversight of  client engagements / projects
  • Forms appropriate judgements based on careful analysis to makes sound business decisions on engagements / projects
  • Develops productive, credible and trusting relationships with key players and their teams during assignments / projects
  • Builds a network of senior-level internal relationships across Deloitte to understand other business unit offerings and to market own area
  • Establishes and maintains strong  relationships with external business leaders across industries
  • Contributes to thought leadership and shares knowledge and expertise with clients, colleagues and teams

 

2. Operational Effectiveness

  • Communicates detail of SLA’s to teams and maintains high level monitoring of adherence by all parties
  • Manages engagement/project risk through supervision of completion of required documentation and processes as mandated by RIL, as well as risk to client confidentiality
  • Leads / manages complex client engagements and maintains high level oversight of all engagements / projects within sphere of responsibility
  • Meets regularly with clients and teams to understand issues, anticipate needs and address these
  • Consistently drives improvement on deliverables through effective leadership
  • Keeps SL/BU leadership updated on status of all assignments
  • Communicates need for any changes in engagement / project plan to relevant leadership and obtains agreement for relevant  amendments
  • Provides ongoing communication to teams on status of engagement / project, changes, achievements, etc.
  • Drives Deloitte values of exceptional service to clients, growing the firm’s brand and talent development

 

3. Development/Growth of Team

  • Mentors and develops team members and counselees on an ongoing basis
  • Empowers managers through appropriate delegation of work

4. Budgets / Profitability

  • Resources engagement teams with  suitable talent, balancing correct levels and numbers and recruiting as necessary
  • Manages margins effectively through accurate budgeting,  pricing and profitability management on engagements
  • Monitors that time and expenses to engagements are recorded and submitted weekly
  • Oversees WIP on projects / engagements and ensures billings are timeously done and collections followed up
  • (May) negotiate pricing for engagements to ensure profitability whilst maintaining client interests

 

What you’ll do / Specialized Competencies

  • Leverages a deep understanding of audit and risk advisory services and stakeholder needs to deliver high quality engagements

  • Become an expert in risk assessments and audit responses

  • Audit professionals are required to obtain an understanding of the entity and its environment, including the entity’s internal control. This is a continuous dynamic process of gathering, updating and analysing information throughout the audit.

  • Audit professionals are also required to have knowledge of relevant accounting standards applicable to the entity.

  • Auditors are required to perform risk assessment procedures to provide a basis for the identification and assessments of the risks of material misstatement.

  • Integrate engagement teams and manage referred work.

  • Involving internal specialists early and often in audits leads to cohesive, well integrated engagement teams. As auditors we have a responsibility to understand the scope of work performed by the experts and specialists, supervise their procedures, review their working papers and understand the conclusions that they reach.

  • Supervision, communication and review in relation to the work performed by component auditors are important activities to determine appropriate identification and response to assessed risks of material misstatement to the group financial statements and, more broadly, adherence to the DTTL Audit Approach Manual.

  • Make appropriate use of tools, guidance and methodology.

Qualifications & Experience required 

  • Minimum Qualifications - Registered CA

  • Minimum 7 years working experience

  • Desired - 5 years in a client facing role, 3 of these in a management role
