Job Description

Main purpose of the role: 

To define, deliver and execute Risk and Compliance initiatives that support Financial Advisory in achieving its strategic objectives. Enforce compliance to Risk policies and procedures (standardisation and governance). Develop an advisory relationship within Financial Advisory. Direct and drive management with Risk and Compliance agenda.

Core Professional Technical Capabilities

Strategic Monitoring of compliance with certain national and international regulatory requirements:

  • Review of all business areas within Financial Advisory to ensure conformity to Global Reputation Risk and Compliance policies with regard to conflict checks, completion and approval of client & engagement acceptance forms, approvals from Lead Client Service Providers

Operational effectiveness    

  • Ensuring that relevant processes are in place to guarantee data integrity and that the Risk and Compliance administration is completed in accordance with defined standards
  • Facilitating the resolution of complex issues that arise without setting a dangerous precedent or exposing the firm to undue risk
  • ·Conducting portfolio reviews by co-ordinating review process and communicating with Directors to assess risk

  • Act as an specialist performing advanced and complex duties requiring expert knowledge of the firms Risk and Compliance, policies, practices and procedures
  • Lead the development and recommendation of the strategic and Operational including financial plans of the department in accordance with the firm’s global goals and objectives
  • Provide authoritative advice to leaders and will have direct responsibility for management of a department or functional unit
  • Assesses performance and determines learning and development requirements
  • Work consists primarily of projects in support of longer term functional/ departmental/ firm goals
  • Execute monthly/annual reporting requirements for BRL review and submission to the Risk, Independence and Legal (RIL) central team and EMEA
  • Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of duties of a routine and non-routine nature at a working level requiring a good understanding of standard methods and established procedures
  • As much work is assigned/ delegated to others – skilful planning is required
  • Act as a competent second-in-charge and adequately fulfil the duties of the Business Risk Leader in his/her absence

  • Assessing how Risk and Compliance management, components, concepts and principles are currently being applied across the Service Line

Qualifications

Requirements

Qualifications & experience required:A relevant B Degree with 5 years+ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a management/supervisory role.

Preferred: A relevant professional qualification with academic and extensive and/or deep knowledge of the Risk and Compliance function with an ability to apply knowledge to resolve complex business issues.
