Job Description
Main Purpose of Job
This is a client-facing role that requires high competence in Global Trade Advisory and Customs technical and relationship management. KPIs will include presenting and conducting Global Trade Technology demos internally and externally, management of client and vendor relationships, and on-site business analysis, implementation and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Experience required
Required
Bachelor’s degree (BSc or similar qualification)
5 years’ experience working in Customs and Trade
Strong interest in Global Trade Technology
Preferred
BA/BSc Honours (Customs related qualification or Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering)
3 years in a client facing role
Experience in Project Management is beneficial
Experience working on GTA and Customs Technology projects
Specialized Technical Capabilities
Attend client meetings to assess business requirements
Provide Customs support for system implementations and related projects
Manage the GTA technology pipeline and marketing
Develop synergies between GTA and GTA Technology disciplines and offerings
Support at client and conference meetings / workshops
Attend / subscribe to technical sessions and meetings with SARS (and other relevant bodies / institutions)
Keep up-to-date with the latest Customs/GTA technology trends and changes at the authorities (including global trends and developments)
Identify opportunities within the local and global network (liaise with our Global teams to identify and drive targets and technology opportunities)
Arrange demos and walkthroughs (internal and client)
Articulate how technology enables business processes and is able to communicate its value clearly to clients
Can speak comfortably about technology tools with clients

Consult with non-GTA specialists on non-GTA offerings when multi-disciplinary issues and selling opportunities are identified
Assist with Excise technical work
Prepare business requirements specifications
Conduct demos for GTA technology offerings internally and at clients
Assist development team with Customs and Excise related queries
Prepare proposals and supporting materials
Participate in client workshops and scoping meetings
Solve for client GTA issues / optimizations with technology solutions
Provide GTA technical support to projects
Manage system implementation projects
