Main Purpose of Job
Responsible for the following functions:
Employee Personal Independence Monitoring
Employee Personal Independence Inspection & Testing
Client Conflict Checks
Third Party Business Relationship Checks
Employee Independence Declarations
Audit Client & Group Structure Verification
Client & Engagement Acceptance
Employee Training & Learning, etc.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Relevant degree of equivalent.
7 years’ working experience within the relevant function
Knowledge of the applicable regulatory bodies (IFAC/SEC/PCAOB etc.) applicable to the audit environment would be an advantage.
Knowledge of risk and independence aspects affecting the audit environment would be an advantage.
Knowledge of relevant Deloitte Policy Manuals on Independence, Conflict of Interest, Know Your Client etc. would be an advantage (if you are a Deloitte internal candidate)
Hands-on independence/risk management experience and a good understanding of independence/risk management in a professional services environment and the application of risk management methodologies would be an advantage.
Quality management experience in a professional services environment.
Project management experience - previous work experience in any of the following areas would be useful:
Business requirement specifications
High computer literacy, with solid working experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience in the Microsoft Client Relationship Management (CRM) System would be an advantage
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
2 years at Senior Consultant level within the function

Interrogates, clearly understands and communicates to team the agreed strategic objectives of both own Service Area and that of the client Service Line/s
Manages the implementation of the strategic imperatives in line with service area strategy.
Budgets and Forecast
Provides input into annual budget to superior for drafting of budget for Service Area
Manages expenditure within team and ensures time and expenses are submitted weekly

Managing a team of Risk Analysts in applicable functions.
Global Independence Monitoring
Personal Independence monitoring though the Deloitte Global Independence Monitoring system (GIMS).
Personal Independence Inspection & Testing
Responsibility for conducting Independence Inspections on Leadership / Management employees within the firm.
Preparing quality feedback and reports with supporting schedules / documents.
Update, monitor and review of independence declarations.
- Effective and efficient planning of annual independence process and adequately coordinating the roll out process firm wide and deliver good quality reports and timeously reporting
Audit Client & Group Structure Verification and Monitoring
Manage the internal validation process effectively and deliver high quality work deliverables and reports. Manage updates to the internal system effectively and resolve any issues promptly.
- Conducting Risk / Independence consultations based on regulatory requirements i.e. IESBA, Companies Act., Deloitte Policy Manuals etc.
Employee Training & Learning
- Update, develop and conduct independence learning for staff and new direct entry partners/directors and presentations to relevant parties and to ensure that learning programs are rolled out to partners/managers and staff.
Managing a team of Risk Analysts and ensuring teams output is accurate, complete and completed in a prompt manner.
Ascertaining conflict checks have been researched in detail to ensure the correct conclusion is reached.
Compiling statistics and reports.
International Conflict Checks
Confirming the accuracy and timely performance of international conflict checks by the team as required.
Client acceptance and continuance
Managing a team of Risk Analysts and ensuring timely processing and reviewing “Know your client” procedures.
Supervising ad-hoc tasks related to client acceptance and continuance checks and processes.
Compiling statistics and reports.
Provide daily support, direction and supervision to the team of Risk Analysts/Assistant Managers.
Monthly reporting of relevant area, the team and their performance.
Conducting appraisals and KPC’s of junior professional staff periodically.
Policy drafting, reviewing and maintenance.
- Undertaking various projects, ad-hoc projects & responsibilities as dictated by the DOI/Deputy DOI/Take-On and Conflicts Leader.
