­Deloitte is seeking to recruit a Consultant in our Consulting – Human Capital Department. This position will be based in the Kampala office.

Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

 

Ensure that client and the Firm’s expectations are met by delivering high quality services and maintaining high utilisation levels. To promote our leadership capabilities which are: living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction and talent development.

 

What you will do 

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of productive relationships with clients while striving to actively stay informed of market trends, performance drivers and emerging technical and industry developments.
  • Manage engagement budget through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management.
  • Use judgement to identify risk and apply global and local quality processes and risk procedures to each client.
  • Support the Engagement Manager on delivery of designated engagement / project, managing the implementation of the agreed deliverables.
  • Manage own work and that of the team against the project plan to ensure a superior client experience.
  • Conduct research on economics, sector and market conditions to better understand the client’s business and specific HC needs.
  • Diagnose a problem, conduct analysis, and develop solutions for client problems.
  • Use information through research, documentation, standard processes to provide output for assimilation into the engagement deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for follow-on work and advise management accordingly.
  • Assist in preparation of client presentations / discussion documentation.
  • Gather information through networking and research to understand broader offerings of Deloitte and awareness of opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Raise ideas to address issues in area of expertise that may enhance / renew service offerings to client.
  • Contribute to the regional and business areas winning business strategy and targets, including contribution to Industry Manager initiatives and cross service line selling and collaboration.
  • Manage WIP on engagement and ensures billings are timeously done and collections followed up.
  • Articulate thoughts and ideas in a clear and composed manner to instill confidence in team and clients.
  • Actively participate and encourage others to participate in the development of new Human Capital products and services, including methodology and business development approaches and tools to support service offering or industry projects.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time. 

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field;
  • Post graduate qualification in human resources management, industrial & Organizational psychology, strategic management, or business administration from a recognized university;
  • Professional qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. CIPD,CHRP,SHRP);
  • At least three years relevant work experience in a client facing role;
  • Experience with a Consulting Firm is an added advantage;
  • Good people management skills;
  • Change and project management skills;
  • Proven leadership/ influencing skills;
  • A proven track record of leading and delivering complex projects;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Stakeholder management skills;
  • Well-developed computer user skills; and,
  • Be a Ugandan Citizen.
