This approach ensures clients' most demanding challenges when operating in multiple jurisdictions are holistically addressed in a coordinated way, by subject matter and industry specialists, locally and abroad. Deloitte deploys the right team at the right time to address the needs of its clients, wherever they operate. 

Deloitte is seeking to recruit a Tax Consultant in our Tax, Legal and Business Process Solutions Department. This position will be based in the Kigali office.

Job Description

Main Purpose of Job  

Ensure that the client and Firm’s expectations are met by delivering high quality services and maintaining high utilization levels.  

Key performance areas 

  •  Overall responsibility for managing client portfolio and ensuring client service delivery;
  • Ensure that all client assignments are well planned and conducted to the required

    standards, within agreed time and financial budgets and in adherence to the Firm’s approved procedures and methodologies;

  • Management of staff in the tax department;

  • Communicating tax risk strategy and tax policies for Rwanda;

  • Participating in budgeting as well as monthly and year-end reporting;

  • Debtor and WIP management;

  • Responsible for implementation of the Tax strategy and overall Deloitte strategy in Rwanda;

  • Assessing the impact of changes in tax law and accounting principles on client business;

  • Develop and manage sound business relationships, market the Firm with the aim of maintaining and winning new business;

  • Keep abreast with technical developments in the profession and Rwanda in order to anticipate client needs, and offer value added and practical business solutions;

  • Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department including training and overall guidance on different aspects;

  • Coaching and supervising junior team members;

  • Responsible for delegating work and coaching junior team members;

  • Recruitment of staff in tax department subject to approval and participation in overall recruitment for the office.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 -10 years’ experience in tax practice in a reputable firm/ Revenue Authority and or industry;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance,  International Business Management, Law or Economics or any other relevant field;
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA (Kenya, Uganda or Rwanda), ADIT, CISA will be an added advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong project management and organization skills and must be able to multi-task; and
  • Team oriented and self-motivated.
