Are you an Technology Project Manager, with deep tech experience, who’s looking for a change in career?

We are recruiting for a Quality & Risk Manager, who understands the intricacies of a Technology project to support the Technology Services Business at Deloitte Consulting.

Our support team is known as Internal Client Services and the scope of their activities covers our Consulting Africa offices. The Quality and Risk Management department is split into several areas: Service Area Risk Advisory, Contracts Management, Legal and Risk Intelligence. The department is home to professionals who live, breathe and deliver the Deloitte experience.

The main purpose of the role is to assess the quality of our clients; the strengths and risks of deals; to establish in advance what we are to be responsible for and to whom and then ensuring that we fulfil those responsibilities while remaining alert to the challenges of the rapidly-changing environment that is our marketplace as well as technology related challenges.

Many risks, if they materialized, could impact our ability to achieve our business strategies—including the protection of our reputation and brand, and global delivery of consistent, high-quality services. This role combines the knowledge of technology projects with business experience to mitigate these risks.

Because the professional services landscape remains volatile, uncertain and complex—with increasing demands from clients and greater scrutiny from regulators, legislators and other governmental authorities—Deloitte continues to focus relentlessly on quality and risk management (QRM), actively monitoring, strengthening and improving its risk procedures, and promoting a culture where professionals learn from others’ experiences. This role acts in this accord, and aims to provide trusted advisory services to the Consulting business.

The Deloitte Consulting Africa business, requires a Senior Manager to support the Technology business in the establishment and continuous improvement of risk and quality management processes for the business, as well as implementing and operating effective risk and compliance management processes. 

Depth of experience in the technology space is critical, and the role is ideal for a technical project manager, wanting to branch out into the quality and risk management space of the business.

This is a multi-dimensional role with a number of focus areas including risk process and integration, risk management, quality management, compliance management as well as analytics and reporting.   

Key Performance Area's

  • Strategic Impact - Managing business risk through driving compliance to firm risk management policies and procedures, whilst achieving an appropriate balance between risk and control.
  • Service and product risk management - Deep understanding of the different service and product offerings in the business, and their inherent risks.
  • Involvement in business development/proposal processes - Working closely with proposal teams, providing guidance on risk management processes in the preparation of proposals and tenders to potential clients, through the assessment of risk, quality and contracting implications of tenders and proposals and the effective execution thereof.

  • Project delivery risk & quality management - Working closely with client delivery project teams to support the delivery of risk management capability to projects, ensuring sound risk management processes are in place on projects, and that these are being executed effectively.

  • Business risk & quality management support - On-going rollout of relevant training and providing hands-on assistance to consultants.

Qualifications

Experience / Knowledge Required:

  • Experience in managing large-scale technology & digital transformation projects
  • Experience with new age technologies such as IoT, RPA, crypto currencies, Blockchain, cyber security, cloud, PaaS, SaaS, etc.
  • Experience with Agile projects and DevOps environments
  • Experience in complex deal structuring involving multiple hardware and software vendors, and professional services provider
