Job Description
You will be part of a hand-picked team of internal consultants with high visibility within Dell’s executive leadership team. Work is typically organized around project-based engagements and you will be responsible for:
- Driving key strategic initiatives for the organization along with a group of analysts or cross function stakeholders
- Collection, synthesis, and communication of analytics and insights to drive strategies and decision making for executives
- Leading junior analysts and responsible for work streams under a strategy project
- Working with top executives across the organization to shape and drive strategic agendas
- Typical strategy projects may involve but not limited to the following topics:
o Optimize supply chain footprint across different product segments
o Innovate commodity procurement through thought partnering, problem solving, detailed
analytics, and strategy forums
o Develop sourcing and continuity of supply strategies across key commodities
o Analyze key market trends and come up with recommendations to executives
o Develop route to market strategies with sales, marketing, and product teams
You should be comfortable with a fast-paced dynamic environment, be able to clearly and concisely communicate recommendations and conclusions with the support of detailed analysis and sources, and may be asked to regularly participate in cross-functional teams in support of initiatives throughout the organization.
The team will have frequent exposure to Dell’s senior executives including Operations, Finance, Product and Sales/Marketing executives. This role is designed as an entry point for high potential candidates. Subsequent roles will have increasing levels of responsibility in Dell’s Global Operations organization.
Qualifications
Key skills required include:
- Ability to manage a group of internal key stakeholders to drive strategy development
- Distinctive problem solving leadership and analytical thinking
- Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships across multiple layers in the organization and able to gain respect of cross functional organization
- Excellent communication and synthesizing skills of both written and verbal
- Strong leadership skills and an ownership mindset
- Able to coach and develop consulting skills for strategy talents
Experience:
- Have strategy project team leader experience at a top-tier management consulting firm is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated successes in multiple strategy development projects
- 4-6 years management consulting experience after a top MBA / advanced degree
- High-Tech or operations knowledge / experience a plus
