Principal, Employee Relations (all genders)

We are looking for a Principal, Employee Relations (all genders) to join the People & Culture team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences. 

You will work in a close partnership with our People and Business team in Berlin to support all Employment Legal matters as well as establishing a collaborative relationship to our works council. You will have the unique opportunity to accompany Delivery Hero in the process of the establishment of a formal Works Council in our Berlin offices. 

We are looking for a talented HR or legal individual who will manage this change process and enable our central leadership teams in the collaboration with a formal Works Council.

Your mission: 

  • You deliver a consistent and knowledgeable and professional service in areas including disciplinary, grievance, probation, performance, long term sick leave etc. ensuring all such matters are dealt with in line with policy, best practice and legislative requirements to mitigate risk.

  • You provide sound, expert ER advice and guidance to People Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders on reorganization and restructuring activity in line with local employment practices and employment law.

  • You curate and deliver relevant training and education to improve HRBP and leader effectiveness and drive better ER decisions.

  • You build partnerships with business leaders and our People Partner team (HRBPs) to sustain positive employee relations practices.

  • You foster strong working relationships with our Employment Legal team, compliance and investigations teams to balance risk, calibrate recommendations for decision-making.

  • You will prepare information and consultation of works councils to advise on business decisions as well as participate in negotiations with works council in committee proceedings

Your heroic skills:  

  • You gained at least 5+ years of professional experience in german employment law and employee relations or similar roles ideally with a HR focus 

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a focus on HR / Employment Law and experience in building employee related policies

  • You are fluent in English; German is a big plus. 

  • You have a track record of working from election to implementation of works councils and managing works councils in highly demanding environments

  • You are highly passionate about creative problem-solving and have excellent interpersonal skills and communication with an eye for detail

  • You are a structured thinker with experience in program / project management

  • You are a progressive, hands-on and customer-obsessed person with the credibility and gravitas to succeed in a fast moving and customer-focused high tech environment.

  • You have a track record of working in complex organizations in Germany

  • You bring excellent stakeholder management skills with an ability to connect at all levels of an organization and foster positive collaborative environments and relationships. 

  • You are a strong communicator with the ability to express “translate” legal related (and complex) topics into a clear, concise and business relevant language

  • You are a team player and love to think outside the box
