Our client is one of the global leaders in formwork and falsework, who operate on a global basis providing bespoke solutions to the construction industry. Due to successful results, my client is now looking to expand its International team specifically in the UAE.
Job Description
Salary £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (Depending on experience), plus individual bonus & company bonus bringing the total package to Circa £66,000 per annum. Housing provided or Housing Allowance up to £16k per annum, International Medical Cover, Company car/car allowance, Pension, Dependents School Fee’s Fully Expensed, x2 Fully Expensed Return Flights per year back to UK).
Taking this into account the package on offer for the successful person is exceptional as due to tax laws in UAE, it is the equivalent of earning a package of around £85,000 - £90,000k per annum in the UK, without taking into account the additional benefits listed above.
The position on offer is for a technical consultant who will provide technical support and knowledge to the sales team on Formwork/Falsework projects they are bidding for. Working directly with the internal sales team and directly with the company’s clients to provide support, answers to technical issues and experience on delivering successful projects.
Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure that engineering work undertaken in KSA/Bahrain conforms to all Technical Company Engineering Risk Management Policies and Procedures as specified by the Chief Engineer of the companies Middle East and Division.
* Implement procedures across KSA and Bahrain that maintains controls, and reviews the engineering work undertaken to ensure it is compliant with the Divisional Engineering Risk Management Policy.
* Functionally manage engineering teams in KSA and Bahrain operations involving the setting and reviewing of technical performance objectives and indicators.
* Those reporting to the Engineering Manager will depend upon the Engineering Manager's specific areas of responsibility but could include some or all of the following positions: Team Leaders, Project Engineers, Temporary Works Engineers, Temporary Works Designers, CAD Technicians.
* Manage direct reports in the engineering function of KSA and Bahrain in a manner consistent with International standards and IIP (Investors in People) principles.
* In conjunction with the HR Manager and local managers determine training needs for technical staff by ensuring they are continually appraised in accordance with the Middle East Engineering and Design Matrix.
* Conduct quarterly Toolbox Talks to technical staff in KSA and Bahrain.
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities:
- Have a detailed knowledge of calculating wind loadings to BS6399:2 and be able to apply loads to non standard situations.
- Have a detailed working knowledge of BS5975
- Be able to carry out a full beam design to BS449 including stiffeners and combined stresses
- Be able to design and detail complex specials to BS449
- Be able to carry out frame analysis using Masterseries in 2D & 3D
- Be able to design non standard access scaffolds including sheeted scaffolds.
- Be able to develop innovative engineering solutions
- To contribute to the raising of technical standards in conjunction with other senior staff
Skills Required:
IT
AutoCAD, Locus Optima, Euroschal, Windows - Have a detailed knowledge of the software and be able to train others.
Products & Applications
Access, Formwork, Falsework, Support, Clear Spanning - Have a detailed knowledge and be able to apply to non-standard applications.
Be able to train others. Where required to assist the Sales Team in the negotiation of contracts
